I remember needing to learn that, but I don't remember how I learned it. And I took A&P I over 5 years ago, so I get to retake next spring.....yay, not!

I'm learning and memorizing it now. We had a mini lab practical today. The 100 question lab final will contain about 65 questions on muscles, origins, actions, etc... How and I memorizing it? Working on it each and every day is very much a key here I believe. Using art labeling and flashcards too. Good luck!

I had to learn the entire arm and hand in one week. Plus other stuff. And got a 97 on that exam.
First rule: You CAN'T FREAK OUT. You have to go into it with the outlook that it IS possible, and you are going to do it.
I made a grid, so I could look at the entire scope of the task (but this is what works for me, if you have a better way, then do that).
Then break it up into chunks, like area of the body, or function, like those that insert on the scapula, or abdominals.
I carried the "chunks" around with me and reviewed them passively when I had a few minutes, even when I thought I couldn't "study" them, figuring a few passes with the eyeballs was better than nothing.
Then I studied whenever I could. Just repitition, repitition, repitition. Put in the hours. There are no shortcuts.
But one key: I never study to the point of confusion. Reinforcing a wrong answer in your brain is BAD. Up to a point, I'd rather cheat and look at the answer rather than continually guess the wrong answer. But if I have to cheat a couple of times, I make up a way of remembering, like a gesture, or a stupid phrase or something.
Don't be paralyzed into doing nothing. As I've said before in this forum, fear is your FRIEND. Ask fear what it wants you to do to be prepared, then DO IT!
I completelely loved anatomy. But then I am a weirdo.
Good luck!

I just scored 99% on the bone and muscle exam, 100% on the muscles.......FLASHCards......I signed up with ADAM online.....which is the program my school uses for testing the muscles....cut and paste pics, made flashcards.....and just kept going over them again and again and again......
Good Luck!!
I just had my muscle test today and I don't think I did very well. It is all so just overwhelming. I did use flashcards. The problem I am having is the teacher. I have a A- in the class, but after this test, I don't know. We had a lab test over bones and muscles Monday which contained 100 question. Then two days later we had a test exam which cover Chapter 9 (muscle tissue) and Chapter 10 (muscles origin) which she wanted us to know the origin, insertion and action to 95 of the muscles. This is her first year teaching anatomy and the amount of material she wants us to memorize is unreal. And I am not the only one who feels this way. By the way,for Mondays lab test the class average was 56% and the highest score was 88%. Even the top students with A,s in the class had a tough time with the lab portion. And after today,s test most of us walked out of the class feeling upset.
could not

I think I had to know more than that, but the muscles were divided between two tests and not all on one.

Saundra, you are in my class!!! LOL
I don't know who you are exactly, but we have the same teacher at OCC and took the same test today! I stayed after, got my grade, and got a 91. She's adding 2 extra points to everyone's grade for errors made on the test.
You got a 91. That's great. I'm hoping I get a C. What was the class average?
Now I want to know what I got.
I have no idea what the class average is on this one, sadly. She pretty much just showed me and someone else our grades real fast after she explained Wed.'s lab to them. We talked to her about some questions that were vague, and I know for sure that she said everyone will get a +2, and possibly more points when we go over the test on Monday.
I hope it works out well for you.
I just found out my test grade. I passed but it is not the grade I was hoping for and the class average was 61%.
