Did anyone get green card after July 2nd?

Any interview done?:o Anywhere?

Any one knows?

I just got a reliable word that AILA has confirmation that the Dept. of State has authorized the consular offices to continue Consular Appointments (Interviews) scheduled for the month of July.

There were no word regarding Consular Appointments for the month of August as of this writing.

Will do. I think they are being extra cautious now on the information they give to the public that's why they are being conservative, esp. after what just happened to the Visa Bulletin "Mis-communication" plus the proposed lawsuits that is being brewed.

Keeping everything crossed that interviews etc will continue to arrive and be done.

I know 60,000 visa were used very quickly but i thought there were 140,000 recaptured visas, am i wrong with this figure?

There is 140,000 visas that is allocated for EB categories every fiscal fiscal year (Oct 1 - Sept. 30) and there is suppose to be 60,000 visas left but the Dept. of State (DOS) claimed that they have used all the remaining 60,000 in just one month for the backlogs.

Once you given an interview appt with the US Embassy, it means that there is a visa number for you. They do not schedule an appt if there is not a visa available.

This is why I keep stating over and over again not to change any interview date if one is assigned to you. These are recapped visas that are being used, and they want to use them up. They are not going to hold onto them to make it more convenient for the person that is wishing the interview.

Hi, Suzanne! I have a question in connection with this. I had my scheduled interview last July 2006 before the retrogression but I wasn't able to attend because my packet 4 was sent to the wrong address, do I still have that visa number up to now or did i lost it?

Hello, let me answer your query based on my experience. I think once you missed the interview, you're due for reappointment. I missed mine last Dec 2006. Did you call and inform the embassy? I wrote them a letter several times with constant follow-up before they sent me Packet 3. I have to resend another copy of my updated DS-230.

Then again, there's the waiting period for NVCs approval. Once approved and a visa is available, they will send you Packet 4 which is your interview/medical appointment as you know.

Since retrogression is still in effect, I'm afraid you might have to wait for awhile .....

You will need to contact the US Embassy where the appt was scheduled. Doubt if they saved it for you if you did not follow up with them. That is how they have these recapped visas to be used at this time. A year is a long time. A couple of months and it may have been saved.

And this is why I am stating over and over again, if you get an interview now, do not make any changes to it. They are trying to use up the visas that they have left, and there is no requirement that they have to save it for you, they can pass it on to the next person now.

Makes sense to do that and let one more person get to the US.

You sent several letters, this poster did not make mention of it, and that is where the problems come up. If they did not have any contact directly with them, then there was no reason to save a visa number for them. And especially from this group of visas, they are trying to get thru a back-log of completed petitions that they have and are using re-capped visas to do the same with.

None yet. Expect more info. coming in starting this Monday. Also, it is expected that the Visa Bulletin will be published this Monday.

There are already AOS approvals from nurses w/ PD of Oct. 2006 (from PI) if you'll read some of the posts here. Not sure what they'll do for Consular Processing but if they were able to give visas for people w/ PDs of Oct 2006 for AOS then they should give visas for those undergoing CP as well, presuming they come from the same home country, have almost the same PDs and everything was in order or it won't just be fair.

Let's just wait for the official announcements that is expected this week, starting on Monday.
