Did anyone get green card after July 2nd?
Any interview done? Anywhere?
Any one knows?
Also want to add that people STILL in their home countries will not benefit from these piece of good news. This window of opportunity are for those who are already in the US on a diff.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
It is understandable for difficulties of I-485 applicants as Se. Lofgren mentioned. Also people in their home countries facing now.
Have anybody thought of those working in third countries other than home country and USA. I received my pack a year back but struck under retrogression and awaiting for the consular interview. When the June visa bulletin was first out, we contacted the US consulate here and immediately, they scheduled the intreview for august. We have immediately arranged PCC of both countires and had medical. Now that the interview is cancelled. There are 60K recaped visas, when my appointment was fixed in June and I still do not comprehend how these were finished! wheras as AOS is still going on!
We cannot return back to our home country as re-sending visa pack in another consulate invites delay and we cannot bet the delay for fear of another retro. Getting renewd visa of this country for ourself and our family is becoming extremly difficult as employers now know that we will leave anytime. we cannot also send back our family to our country. Because when retrogression removes, there is no gurantee that our family get a visit visa to here to attend the interview.
We have no choice but stay patiently with hope watching all these..! and apparently DOS and USCIS listioning the sounds of those over there,
So what do we do now? No crying (had enough of that for the past 2 yrs), No getting mad/angry (because we have no right to be--it was our choice to immigrate legally via CP)..so...? Somehow, I still want to be hopeful.....
If you have gotten an interview and it gets cancelled, blame the attorneys that caused all of the issues the past few weeks, not USCIS. They had cone out and stated that they were using recapped visas and that they had assigned them quickly. It never meant that they were issued in two weeks but the numbers had been assigned to files that were waiting. And then there were those even here that were protesting about it that they could not get their I-485 submitted even though they really wanted it done. USCIS is forced to accept petitions for it, so what did you think that was going to happen? Perhaps some of you will protest to these attorneys offices that pushed USCIS to do something that they did not need to do. And if is stated that they will accept petitions up until August 17th, when the July Bulletin expires the last day of July, and the August Bulletin has already stated no visas, it is just common sense.
And now many of you can see why I get upsey when people post that they are now in the US on a tourist visa and want to go thru the AOS process. And why I have answered them that it is actually illegal to do and easy to get denied. And I find it very upsetting that they even want to consider it in many cases. Sure, there are a few exceptions to this, but for the most part, the ones that are doing it knew exactly what they were doing and had intended to stay. And those that are trying to do it legally have to wait.
So maybe the ones that are even considering it now will think again. And it is even funnier that they have come to the US with the idea of staying and have not even applied for licensure in some cases, do not even know how to start that process, but they are determined to stay and work illegally. Even when we tell them that there are no visas. And they continue to do it. And if working illegally here, they deserve to be deported.

Not 100% sure yet, but think that some of these cancelled interviews have to do with country of birth again, like it did with the last retrogression. Still think that the PIC countries and Mexico will be affected in October. Will be surprised if they are not. There are just way too many applicants from those countries than there are visas that are assigned to their countries. But is it fair to get an interview and have it cancelled? No, it is not.
And to those posters here that think that if someone comes to the US on a tourist visa and goes thru the AOS process that all is fine. That is not what the AOS process was designed for in the first place. And it is still listed as being in violation of US Immigration Law to have double intent. That is why we are starting to see more of those petitions getting denied, and it will only increase. That is not the case. And they should not get a priority over those that went thru "legal" channels to get here.
AOS for someone that has been here a few years and legal is one thing, but to come on a tourist visa and expect to be able to apply for a visa now is just shameful. Especially after we have warned over and over again since last year. It should not be permitted to be done.

That post is actually meant for people who are thinking of going to the US right now and doing AOS. I just wanted to point out that it is near impossible to do everything in less than a month remaining. This piece of good news (filing of AOS until middle of Aug.) is meant for people already in the US for quite some time. 60-90 days the very least and esp. to those already waiting for years, such as IT workers on H1B visas.

Thank you. I wish USCIS/NVC are made up of people as just as you.
Just wanna say thanks to you. i noticed how helpful you've been to posters here, answering various topics/queries. seems you're a very patient person. Wish all of us could have the virtue in the same degree.:wink2:
Oh.. my patience at one time was very short but what is the use of getting upset you can't do anything about it except make yourself ill with the stress as the song goes "Que sera sera What will be will be" and we will make it eventually

There are actually already reports of PDs of up to Oct. 23 2006 having GCs for AOS.
