Minefield.
I love the job, the interaction with people, observing ppl gain control over their lives. Being able to use your brain. Being able to use your heart. Support of your peers. Being able to share a warped and wicked sense of humour with my colleagues. Respect from others. The shift work. The thankyous, which are so unexpected. The kindness and understanding from patients.
There are times I hate the job. Manipulative behaviours. Verbal abuse. Physical abuse. Frustration at not being able to provide the care you want. Understaffing. Lack of respect from doctors and other allied health workers.
Minefield. Legal implications of every single tiny little thing we do and say...How sad it is that nursing has gone this way... This really really scares me...
