Declaratory order to Texas BON

Nurses Criminal

Has anyone submitted their declaratory order to Texas? I am getting very anxious as I submitted mine and it's been 3 months with no response. I know the process says 3-6 months, but I know some people who received responses in less than a month. I am just wanting to hear from someone else who had to wait also so I will not feel like there is necessarily something wrong. Thanks.

I have a friend who is going to apply to nursing school and will need to complete a declaratory order with the Texas BON. Their record is expunged and the case was dismissed. However, they are told they need to still write a personal statement as to what happened, etc. Can anyone provide advice on what they should write? I am no help to them at all....

I was wondering if anyone could help me out? I have a friend who is completing their Declaratory Order to the Texas BON and they are working on their personal statement, I have no idea what to suggest to them to write, and seeing as many of you have successfully completed your Declaratory Order, was hoping you could provide some insight as to what they should say / address in their personal statement....

Hey everyone. I was recently accepted to a nursing program that starts in Jan 2012 and had to file a declaratory order. I was told that it takes 45 days for them to make the initial decision. In this step they can either approve you or send you for further review to the enforcement department. I was told 2 different things when i call the BON regarding the 45 day deadline. One woman told me 45 calendar days and another woman said 45 business days. I am hoping that it is the 45 calendar days because if not I may not get my paperwork from them in time to start school in january. :( It's crazy how something that happened 14 years ago when I was a minor can really impead on ones hope of finally becoming a nurse. I just pray that the BON is speedy with this decision.

Kristen in Texas did you get ur approval from boards yet? if so how long did it take when it went for the enforcement for review?

MY Declaratory order took a couple of months with some conditionalities. I am about to graduate this summer. Now, Job! Dont know what what my chances of getting a job will be.

Does anyone know if nursing school will let you start without your approval letter from the BON if you have a criminal background? I recently got accepted to start the LVN program at the end of August and I'm being told different things. I was told that I could start but I will need to have my approval letter in order to start the clinical portion. I recently sent in my $150 fee to the BON in the beginning of Aug and was told it can take up to 6 months to get an answer. My nursing school director is on vacation and will not return to campus until classes start. I don't know whether I should go ahead and pay for my physical and cpr classes and stuff. Does anyone know or have any input on this?

Hey there I know this is a late response to your post but I have a few questions about the Declaratory Order. Since you have already been through the process I figured you could help me out a little bit. This whole process has been so overwhelming and I just want to make sure I send everything to them in its entirety so I can get a quicker response from the Board of Nursing. And how long did it take you to get an answer btw and what was the outcome if you don't mind me asking? Regarding the packet with the personal letter, court documents etc is there specific advice you have? I just want to make sure I'm sending in all the right stuff and I'm really nervous about the outcome :( Thanks so much and I'd really appreciate it if you could be so kind as to help me a little through this process. It seems like I have no one to ask or get answers from.

I'm applying to Lonestar's Nursing program opening July 1st that starts in spring 2014. I saw that you had sent in a Declaratory Order packet which I too am trying to get together. I just want to be sure I have everything in order before I send it. Is there any specific advice you have regarding it? And in regards to the personal letter what all did you include in it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! This process has been so overwhelming. I just want to have everything in order before school starts and I've read it takes quite a while to hear back from the BON. Thanks!

Ok, I am in the lvn program at my school that allows you to become during the summer after your first year of the ADN program. Well i had to do a background check and it came back clear because i got to continue on in the program, but now im about to apply for the lvn boards and im having a hard time wondering if i should do a declaratory order. I mean if i passed the check to get in the program why cant i just continue on like everyone else?

Did any of you guys have to pay a fee when you first submitted your paperwork ?

Is there any initial fee when sending your paper. I know there's a 150$ fee if sent to the ED, but when you first send it do you need to pay something?
