  1. I will be graduating this May. My goal and dream has always been to be a NICU nurse. Where I live we have a level 2 NICU and it probably averages 2-4 babies at a time. The Women's Health unit has ups and downs. It is couplet care, so the nurses care for moms and well newborns. I have been offered a position on the adult Cardiac/Step Down unit and will be interview for Women's Health. My question is this, would it be feasible in say 2 years to be hired in a larger NICU having adult critical care experience or would I be better off in the WH position? My only concern is not getting enough hours on WH.
  2. So which one did you take and how is it going? I am graduating this May and just put in my application for Baylor. I am planning to also apply at Children's or Parkland. Do you have any advice for me?
  3. I called last week and they told me a decision has been made and my file was sent to someone for approval of the decision. I wonder how long that process takes?
  4. Well I still have not heard anything. It has been almost 5 months. I am so confused at how this process works. I hear people getting responses in a month or less and getting phone calls. I called the board and they told me they are still working on the August requests and that they do not make phone contact? I don't understand, how is there such a dramatic difference? Sorry, I'm just getting anxious and I know its my fault for waiting to turn in the d.o.
  5. I have a felony but the charge was dismissed. I never was even actually charged, but I was arrested. It was 8 years ago. Anyway, I am already in nursing school and I didn't apply to the BON first because at the time I was under the impression that since I was not convicted I did not have to file. I am going to graduate in May and am very anxious that it is taking so long.
  6. Has anyone submitted their declaratory order to Texas? I am getting very anxious as I submitted mine and it's been 3 months with no response. I know the process says 3-6 months, but I know some people who received responses in less than a month. I am just wanting to hear from someone else who had to wait also so I will not feel like there is necessarily something wrong. Thanks.
  7. I filed a declaratory order in Aug. After my fingerprints I received a letter stating that my background check was positive and that my file was forwarded to the enforcement division. It said it would take 3-6 months and I still haven't received a response. I am getting very anxious even though I am just at the 3 month mark.
