Declaratory order to Texas BON

Nurses Criminal

Has anyone submitted their declaratory order to Texas? I am getting very anxious as I submitted mine and it's been 3 months with no response. I know the process says 3-6 months, but I know some people who received responses in less than a month. I am just wanting to hear from someone else who had to wait also so I will not feel like there is necessarily something wrong. Thanks.

After 5 years of taking prerequisites and finally getting in. My dreams are being shattered. I was told I need a declaratory order before I can start clinical or my spot will be taking up. I am driving to Austin on Monday to hand deliver it. Any advice on how long it will be. It is a theft by check.

Felicia925, it's better to mail it. Make sure u have all forms from the courts staying it's cleared and have your letter written. I know because I have a theft and a pending dwi. It will take 3 months to get an answer. I got my letter in feb. of this year after sending it In October 2012. They said I had to send $150 w court papers showing my pending dwi is cleared. If your theft charge is cleared they should go from there and clear it. It's literally case by case as that say! Good luck!

How much is the initial fee for the declaratory order

Did anyone join Nursing school before they had their declaratory order cleared?

How long did it take you to get fingerprinted? IT has been 7 days for me but they say it can take 15 calendar days. Is this correct? I have a theft by check

Hello! I've applied to nursing school, and am getting fingerprinted next week. I have a PI charge (class C misdemeanor) from 5 years ago-is there any reason to believe the TX BON won't allow me to sit for the licensing exam? I have to be cleared before I can start the program. I'm sure I'll have to send in a declaratory order, just worried about everything being approved before the start of my program in June! I'd be so appreciative to hear from anyone who has been through this!

Its has been a long road so far for me, especially dealing with the Texas BON!!! I worked hard with all my pre and core reqs and did great on the TEAS V and was first accepted to a nursing program starting Aug 2013. HOWEVER, little did I know that there was something on my record and my school requires that you be cleared by the BON before starting! So I was surprised when i didnt receive a blue postcard and got a letter instead saying they found something on my record. It was for theft when I was 17 (I am 26 now). I was never convicted once I completed community service and and counseling. Since it was dismissed, I was under the impression that it wasnt going on m record and even believe thats what I was told by my attorney but apparently the BON sees everything. The first letter i received said I had to send in the court records and a written statement explaining what happened. I was honest and was told by many people that it would be fine. Ha!! I waited and went to orientation and the same day I called to see if I could have an update, I was told that my case would be going to the enforcement department and could not call for an update for 4 MONTHS!!!! So I had to give up my hard earned spot to an alternate and it was heartbreaking to say the least. Luckily I got into nursing school a second time, I am hopefully going to start Jan 2014 if all goes good. The 4 months went by and I was able to check my status once again in Nov and was told that I will be cleared but my case went to another dept which decides which stipulations they are going to put on me and that I will have to wait another 6wks for what they call an Agreed Eligibility Order. The Order will basically say that I will be cleared only if I agree to their conditions and terms, I will have to sign it and send it back and wait some more to get my final clearance. I must submit clearance by Jan 7th and I will not be cleared by then. However the nursing director is going to take my outcome letter into consideration. I am praying that all goes good and I will be able to start school this time. If I have to give up my spot again then Im afraid I will feel defeated!

For those who asked, No I was never asked to pay a fee, not yet at least but that may be one of my conditions. My question to anyone with a similar situation is, what were your conditions? were they ridiculous, as in did you have to do counseling or pay money and does it affect your license???

Thanks!

I just sealed my packet for the BON and will be shipping it out monday morning - 7 months of gathering documents!

I have a DWI misdemeanor - 0.091% BAC (3.5 years ago) and an expunged misdemeanor aggravated battery, not guilty, no arrest (5.5 years ago). I have a 3.82 GPA, 95% HESI A2 - all sections, 95% TEAS V, and a BS in Biology. I'll keep everyone updated with my situation. It seems few people follow through with their BON experience.

If anyone has questions about my packet, statement letter, etc. feel free to ask :)

Is there any initial fee when sending your paper. I know there's a 150$ fee if sent to the ED but when you first send it do you need to pay something?[/quote']

No there is no fee when first submitting a declaratory order to the BON. They will contact you if your order goes to enforcement review...

Had a quick question! I am going so send the Declaratory Order but how much money do we need to send with it? My instructor says one thing but the website says another. Really confused! Someone help please!

Im going through the same situation, except I mailed my declaratory order in december and still havent heard back from them. It was theft also when i was 15, I send the paperwork priority mail, tracking number and everything and it turns out THEY NEVER RECIEVED IT , they said im not even in the system..!!!! I checked the tracking number and it says that they RECIEVED it , Im so frustrated and its not fair.. my clinicals start in 5 weeks. Plus the lady said I could fax and email them , but the only email they have is the webmaster one, which no one replies to. I already emailed my teacher letting her know , but I just wanna burst into tears I worked so hard and already paid so much money to be in the nursing program.

I dont understand why all their procedures are so ancient. Why they dont reply to emails, why they lost my paperwork..Thats just plain irresponsible...
