my children are grow, have own careers & I am able to leave the RAT race & ride off onto the sunset. Would this be selfish of me @ age 54 .. Honestley?

Why would it be selfish? If you children are settled and you can afford it, go for it!

If you can afford to do so-if you are female-your life expectancy probably will be well into your 80's. If you can live off what you have for the next 30 years.

Except for the riding the Harley part, I totally envy you. It's not at all selfish. You're actually a great example to young nurses; take care of your finances early, and you can retire young and have time to have fun.
I'll think of you every time my feet hurt. :)

As long as it includes an RV in the equation for cross country travel. The bike would be too hard on the butt for long travel days.
