Dates of Orientation for NHCC and IHCC programs?

So I'm awaiting responses from NHCC and IHCC on whether I've been accepted to their programs but I'm trying to make some vacation plans and I need to know some things and was wondering if anyone here knew.

I know classes start August 25th for both programs, but is there an orientation or any other meetings that students admitted to the program need to attend before Aug 25th? Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that lindz, 11.2 seems competitive. Are you on the alternate list or did they say how many applied. Maybe enough people have a different first choice.

I heard NHCC is expanding their program. The built a huge new addition. I couldn't apply there because they required an art credit.

Got my letters! I had a TEAS score of 74.7 and a GPA of 3.75. I was denied for both Century and ARCC. Feel bad but at least the waiting is over. Century did sent me a second letter to be sent back to be on the alternate list, but no number as to where I stand.

I got accepted to ARCC!!! I had miscalculated my GPA though (old credits from other schools and I wasn't sure how they'd calculate), so my final GPA was 3.26, and my TEAS was 84.7 for a combined score of 11.73. Congrats to everyone else who got in! I'm so sorry for anyone who did not get in this round; best of luck to you in the next cycle!

Shoot it's sounding pretty competitive! My mail is being sent 2,000 miles away to my parents in Minnesota so I probably won't hear from them until later...

So I will reapply in June, but still with the same score because I already to the TEAS twice. So how are we suppose to increase our chances?

Is the rule only taking the teas twice per year or twice per application cycle? Did you apply to all 5? There are different classes thus your gpa will be different for each school.

To edit; I found this on normandales mane application page;

All applicants are required to complete the most current Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to application deadlines. Applicants are allowed two (2) attempts at the TEAS exam with a minimum of 4 weeks between attempts. Planning is underway to offer the exam on the Normandale Campus in January of 2014.

It sounds like you can take the TEAS twice per application cycle?

I got accepted to Anoka-Ramsey & Century College with 11.8 (4.0 GPA, 78 TEAS). I'm so excited to get started :)
