So I'm awaiting responses from NHCC and IHCC on whether I've been accepted to their programs but I'm trying to make some vacation plans and I need to know some things and was wondering if anyone here knew.
I know classes start August 25th for both programs, but is there an orientation or any other meetings that students admitted to the program need to attend before Aug 25th? Thanks in advance!

NHCC's website mentions an orientation, but all it says is that it takes place after acceptance into the program. Your best bet is to contact the schools and see if the dates have been scheduled yet.
I emailed the nursing advisor at NHCC and she said there will most likely be an Orientation to attend late April or in May. I'm sure IHCC is the same since they're both part of MANE but I just want to make sure.
Does anyone know if there is anything else to attend other than orientation??

I think just orientation and I'd imagine they won't schedule anything during summer...
Before the start of the program, you will need to have:
1. Documentation of current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association.
2. Completion of current Minnesota Human Services Background Check.
If an applicant has been arrested, charged or convicted of any criminal offense, he or she should investigate the impact that the charge or conviction may have on his or her chances of employment or licensure as a registered nurse and the student’s chances to obtain federal, state and other higher education financial aid ( by Minnesota Statute 135A. 157).
If the applicant refuses, or is disqualified as a result of the background study, the applicant will be unable to successfully complete the requirements of the proposed MANE alliance.
3. Completed health and immunization record, including proof of current immunizations and tuberculosis testing, and/or other requirements as defined by the clinical agency.

Yup I've got all that already! Thanks for the info though!
That's what I figured too. Just wanted to make sure before I booked any tickets! I didn't want to cut it too close either haha
That's a good idea but definitely take the vacation before starting nursing school! I think we'll need ha!
