Dates of Orientation for NHCC and IHCC programs?

So I'm awaiting responses from NHCC and IHCC on whether I've been accepted to their programs but I'm trying to make some vacation plans and I need to know some things and was wondering if anyone here knew.

I know classes start August 25th for both programs, but is there an orientation or any other meetings that students admitted to the program need to attend before Aug 25th? Thanks in advance!

I agree with you @Marie333. They asked for verification for something but needed it by 3/3/2014 so I'm guessing they will be sent out sooner than later too. Meanwhile I'm going manic ;)

My anxiety level is HIGH!!! This last week of waiting is gonna be hell.

I don't think my house will ever be so clean. Trying to stay busy, busy, busy!!!

Hhaha I know I am trying to keep myself busy! I had a dream that desicions were given out vial email and mine would not load fully!

67.3% TEAS and 3.73 GPA

It may be different, between schools, but I applied at ARCC and was given a postcard when I turned in my application that said you will find out "no later than March 15th". So you might want to start checking your mail daily now :)

My guess is that because next week is spring break, that the letters will get sent out this week sometime and you'll either receive your letter sometime before this week is over, or early next week... but that's just my guess.

Yeah I have a feeling we will be notified end of this week

Don't worry, you're not alone in that anxiety.... I nearly throw up every time I go to the mailbox. One way or the other, good or bad, it would just be nice to know! The waiting is killing me!

How'd you do on the TEAS/GPA? Do you think you're getting in?

So, I already have a bachelor's degree in biomedical science, but unfortunately my first year of college I didn't focus like I should have and didn't do very well in some of my classes. Which means, once they changed how the GPA is calculated for acceptance, my GPA tanked. So I'm coming in with a 3.0 - if I had known earlier which classes they'd be using, I would have repeated at least one of the classes. Thankfully, I did decently on my TEAS: 84.7%.

Since there are no stats regarding what a competitive score would be, I'm not sure my 11.47 will cut it. I wish my score was either lower to the point where I could be in the state of mind of "Well, it's a long shot, but I might as well apply just to see", or my score was higher so I could start seriously planning how to pay a mortgage while in school and working minimal hours.

I am waiting too. I applied at Century and ARCC. GPA is 3.75 and I got a 74 on my TEAS. So 11.15. I do wonder how the spring break break affects ARCC.

Just be patient. You'll find out in about a week. You can start your planning at that point. Also, if you don't get in, you can always try again next semester. .

I am in the EXACT same situation. I already have a bachelors in Psychology and I minored in Biology. I'm going in with a 3.0 GPA and a 81% on my TEAS. The test proctor told us that the average people have been getting on the TEAS was 60%-70% which is why I was happy with my score. Also, I've been hearing that anything over an 11 makes you a competitive candidate.

Here's to hoping our scores are good enough!
