CVS - NEW YORK - CGFNS 2019

Published

Hi guys, I am from outside USA who went thru the process of CGFNS NY to take NCLEX-RN. If you have questions about CGFNS new york, ask me and I'll try my best to answer.

Cos I have seen a topic about this and it has so many threads to a point that it is confusing.

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if you need to send in verification of nursing licenses directly to NYSED? I hold Australian and New Zealand Licenses and forwarded those to CGFNS a long time ago; it just dawned on me that I may also need to give this information to NYSED or will it just be included in the CES report and thats all you need to do?

It does seem a little silly to aubmit it twice!!

Thanks! ?

Good morning.

I got a notification from comparative education department that my education is approved. I am yet to waiting notification from NY nursing board for the next step. I read on NCSBN that says we should register and pay the fee well in advance. I am confused whether I should register and pay the fee to Pearson Vue first, then wait for ATT? or wait for ATT first, then register and pay for NCLEX to Pearson Vue?

Good morning. I’d go ahead and pay Pearson vue. That is what I did. I paid first then I waited for my ATT. I believe I got it within 2 weeks.

What I did was I went ahead and paid. Called NY to let them know my education has been approved and that I wanted to know the current status. They asked if I Already paid and I told them yes. They then told me to give them Atleast a week or 2 to finish everything. No problem always down to share info.

@Montelukast thank you so much for the information!

Me again LOL- I am completing the CGFNS NY CVS. I am a bit confused when it gets to the section asking about speciality education and ongoing education?

I have done my post grad in anaesthetics and recovery and have included that in my qualification parts- do I just put that information there again?

If I say no- I don't have any speciality education it then prompts and says to explain why I don't have any continued speciality education?

Hello! I am also filling in my cgfns application to apply for RN in USA from AUS

For the specialty education I've added my post graduate cert in critical care

But
The continuing education section...

I've been a nurse for 10 years. How do I succinctly, yet completely, fill this section in?

Any advice? How did you end up filling it in GiGi?

My CGFNS had that issue as well. You need to print out the application form, sign it in front of a notary (usps etc) and then scan it in and upload it for them. After I did that they said it could take months before that document is verified - I was very sad about this. But then a week later my CVS report was sent to NY state anyway - its been over a month and it still says waiting for documentation but I know my report has already been submitted to nysed.... ^_^

You can always call CGFNS and check with them - but as long as you have submitted it it shouldn't be an issue.

Where do I upload it to?

They have changed the interface of CGFNS since I put in my application. But there was a spot where you could download and upload the file next to the listed requirement from memory. Just call cgfns tomorrow if its too confusing; they should be able to walk you through it.

Hi,

Does anyone knows how to edit or correct information on my CGFNS forms?

I submitted the forms already and noticed it late a wrong information?

I havent paid yet.

Hello,

Apologies for bumping in. I have questions about NY Re-take policy.

Do you know how many times you can take the NCLEX-RN exam in NY state?

I took NCLEX  year 2015-16 failed 3x.(My fault for not making an effort to attend review classes or focus very hard on self review).

I applied in Hawaii State this year but then required me to do a remedial course which is too expensive and its about 190hrs.

I would just rather spend it to a good NCLEX review class and focus on it.

Please help.
