CVS - NEW YORK - CGFNS 2019

World Registration

Published

Hi guys, I am from outside USA who went thru the process of CGFNS NY to take NCLEX-RN. If you have questions about CGFNS new york, ask me and I'll try my best to answer.

Cos I have seen a topic about this and it has so many threads to a point that it is confusing.

Hello, by my experience you have to fill out the correct adress in the cgfns forms, even before you notarize them you can always edit your application. At least thats what I did, corrected what I did wrong, checked everything. Print/Notarize it, upload in my messages and also send it by  ups post. Did this for myself and my friend and we never had problem. They fixed it by themselves. Or you can always give them a call.

Hi guys.. What to do if you lost/forgot your cgfns ID no.? Someone hack my email account. please. Reply. Thank you.

I applied in NYBON. Finished all the required courses. CGFNS sent the CVS report 1st week of Dec 2020. Until now NYSED hasn't given me an update. You can't call them for status of your application(per NYSED website). They only response in "Contact us" on their website but like always, its only the automated response I get everytime I contacted them.

Any thoughts on this? Does anyone has experience this too?

Does NYBON really takes that long to process documents and issue an approval?

I appreciate all the response. You'll are great ^_^

You have to call NYSED I waited 2 months and nothing. I called them 3 weeks ago and they told me it will roughly take six weeks. So im still waiting because it was a system glitch and they did not recived my CVS report on January as they have too but in April 4th. And by middle of April nysed sent my case to comp edu. Form the moment they have your case in NYSED it should take only 1 month or 1 month and a half not more. I don't know about visa screen, I live in NYS already.

Call cgfns and answer the questions to verify your identity and they will give it back to you.

I am still waiting too. CGFNS sent my documents Dec 18th and they still haven't accessed them. I have been able to call because they weren't responding to my respondence via email. Such a frustrating process!!

Meanwhile, Imma try exploring another state while waiting for NYSED. I'm tired of waiting. It's been almost 6mos.

As far as I know these states does not require remedial course(Correct me if Wrong) if failed 3x or haven't practiced for 5yrs.

Ohio, Connecticut, Vermont, New Mexico.

CA-BON has no limit on re-take but if you finished your BSN overseas(like Asia), they require you to take refresher course for a certain units, depends on their evaluation.

I just don't like the idea of taking remedial classes or refresher courses just to get eligibility for NCLEX. I could spend that time and $$ on my NCLEX review classes.

Good luck everyone. ^_^

Hello! I have a friend at work who has an international nursing license and she does not know where to start to become licensed in NY. Can you offer some guidance? What is the first step?

Start by calling NYSED( (518) 474-3817)  http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/nurse/#  and they will show her the options. There are two options 1: do it by yourself

2: through the agency  CGFNS https://www.cgfns.org/ .
I did it with agency ,some people followed  the other path. As for CGFNS you have to open an account at their website and complete all the personal data and school related stuff that they ask and then you have to go to New York State education department and fill out the application there too. The agency  will send you some papers you’re gonna have to deliver them at your school and then school will send transcripts to CGFNS. After CGFNS finishes the evaluation they are going to send a report to New York State education department. After that it’s a waiting game from comparison education some people said they wait a few months some people said a few weeks for me it’s been months good luck.

quick update for you all.
I have my approval from NYSED - have just paid for the NCLEX with pearson view to get my ATT released.
New York does not need me to do any further education/courses/clinical time. They took about 3 months to process my application from the date CGFNS sent them my information.

Unfortunately, my boyfriend (in america) has ended our relationship 3 weeks before I got this email from NYSED. My entire world has just disappeared it's awful.

So anyway, I've come this far I feel silly not to just take the exam!
I've already paid for the study material, spent the last 10 months on this application - so why not keep options open. yeh???

From the date of ATT, you have 365 days to sit the exam.
Now that I'm not in a rush to move overseas, I'm thinking perhaps start of 2022 to sit the exam and study for it slowly til then.
