    Clinical Hours Required

Thanks I might try that. I am getting frustrated, I direct a question to CGFNS about the hours required by the WI BON and then they direct me to the WI BON, who then directs me back to CGFNS 😫.

AUS RN moving to WI, HELP!

I think that’s what I am going to have to do. I have found a school in Michigan that will allow me to make up the hours. I just can’t get to America now because Australians aren’t allowed to leave the country due to COVID. I have been hearing similar things about the hours, and even looking at some universities in the US there doesn’t seem to be any dedicated pracs for them? Australia is good to work in 😊 I’m not sure of the process of getting registered as an international RN but I’m sure there is some info on the AHPRA website. We don’t do registration by states, it’s all national so any nurses can work anywhere within Australia.

    Clinical Hours Required

Hi everyone, I will be attending another university to get my Obstetric and Paediatric nursing hours as I was deemed deficient by CGFNS. Does anyone know what the minimum required hours are? I can't find any information and I don't want to have to redo a clinical placement if I get told that I haven't done enough hours. It is for registration in Wisconsin. Thanks

Australian RN equivalent to USA LPN?

Hi everyone, I am currently going through the process of getting my credentials certified by CGFNS. I am a practicing RN in Australia. I have been deemed deficient in two areas- obstetrics and paediatric clinical hours only. I was wondering if anyone knows whether I would be able to apply for and gain recognition as a LPN so that I could be working whilst I made up those subjects in the US or if anyone has any experience doing so? I am coming across on a family based visa, so I am not requiring a job to immigrate. Thanks!
  5. Hi, I was just reading your post regarding nursing registration in USA with Australian degree, how did you end up going with the whole process, did you finally get your registration in the States? also if you don't mind me asking which university did you complete your degree in Australia? Hope to hear from you :)

I would think so, the dual degree nurses/midwifery don't seem to have any issues getting accepted in the USA. It took around 4 months before they even looked at one of documents sent. Then they said the university didn't do a proper signature so that went back and forth for another 8 months. I ended up having to complain to the BBB and then the same day the issue got resolved. Have a read of all the complaints on BBB about CGFNS, it will prepare you as to what to expect.

    AUS RN to USA HELP!

Yes and if it expires you need to pay more money, it’s a broken process in my opinion. I had to pay for my uni to send the transcripts, then AHPRA to send my registration and they take months before they even look at them.

    AUS RN to USA HELP!

No- they will only accept transcripts directly sent from your university. You will have to select a service from CGFNS, pay the amount ($300 USD from memory) and then go through the process

    AUS RN to USA HELP!

Yes they don’t count unfortunately. You will have to go through CGFNS and then your university will send through the transcripts etc.

Baker college- Jackson, Michigan University of Michigan I just emailed multiple universities/ colleges asking if I could just do the subjects as stand alone subjects. I’m going to do it thru Baker college as it’s going to be closer for me

    CVS - NEW YORK - CGFNS 2019

Hi! Did you have any clinical hours to make up? Was NY easy to deal with if so? I am now changing from my application to Wisconsin as my fiancé has gotten employment in NY for the next 3 years and my CGFNS application stated I was deficient in my hours for paeds and obstetrics (even though I work with paeds and obstetric emergencies...) Thank you 🙂

AUS RN moving to WI, HELP!

Hi! I am currently in the process of obtaining my RN licence in the USA. I have gone through CGFNS and they have deemed me as not having enough hours in paediatrics and obstetrics. (This was when I was in university). I currently working in PACU looking after Paediatric and Obstetric patients however CGFNS will not accept these hours as they don't come directly from my university. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what my next step would be? I have been stuck in the CGFNS loop for the past two years and I am truly at a loss as to what to do. I have been looking at accelerated BSN degrees, but even they haven't been able to help me out and are saying that I need to be an RN in the USA already to do these degrees? Would really appreciate any advice!
