CVS - NEW YORK - CGFNS 2019
Me again LOL- I am completing the CGFNS NY CVS. I am a bit confused when it gets to the section asking about speciality education and ongoing education? I have done my post grad in anaesthetics and recovery and have included that in my qualification parts- do I just put that information there again? If I say no- I don't have any speciality education it then prompts and says to explain why I don't have any continued speciality education?

Clinical Hours Required
Thanks I might try that. I am getting frustrated, I direct a question to CGFNS about the hours required by the WI BON and then they direct me to the WI BON, who then directs me back to CGFNS ?.

AUS RN moving to WI, HELP!
I think that’s what I am going to have to do. I have found a school in Michigan that will allow me to make up the hours. I just can’t get to America now because Australians aren’t allowed to leave the country due to COVID. I have been hearing similar things about the hours, and even looking at some universities in the US there doesn’t seem to be any dedicated pracs for them? Australia is good to work in ? I’m not sure of the process of getting registered as an international RN but I’m sure there is some info on the AHPRA website. We don’t do registration by states, it’s all national so any nurses can work anywhere within Australia.

AUS trained Nurse wanting to move to USA
Hi! I am currently going through the process. I have a dual degree with Nursing and Paramedicine and I have all the theoretical requirements, however, I am deficient in my clinical hours for paeds and obstetrics (paramedic hours aren't counted). Your best bet would be doing a midwifery degree, I am going down that route. I have enquired mutilple times if my experience with paeds and obstetrics in my PACU environment was enough and have been told that it isn't accepted as they aren't attached to a university subject. My advice would be to start looking at graduate midwifery programs (CQU has an 18month one). Don't start the CGFNS process until you have the hours because you will be continually paying to renew and not have your case go anywhere- I have learnt the hardway. Hope this helps.

Australian B.Nursing & B.Midwifery working in U.S
I am not sure to be honest, it should but I don't know what their minimum hour requirements are. Best bet would be to contact CGFNS- phoning is the best way I have found, email replies can take days- a week.

Clinical Hours Required
Hi everyone, I will be attending another university to get my Obstetric and Paediatric nursing hours as I was deemed deficient by CGFNS. Does anyone know what the minimum required hours are? I can't find any information and I don't want to have to redo a clinical placement if I get told that I haven't done enough hours. It is for registration in Wisconsin. Thanks

Australian RN equivalent to USA LPN?
Hi everyone, I am currently going through the process of getting my credentials certified by CGFNS. I am a practicing RN in Australia. I have been deemed deficient in two areas- obstetrics and paediatric clinical hours only. I was wondering if anyone knows whether I would be able to apply for and gain recognition as a LPN so that I could be working whilst I made up those subjects in the US or if anyone has any experience doing so? I am coming across on a family based visa, so I am not requiring a job to immigrate. Thanks!

AUS RN to USA HELP!
Yes and if it expires you need to pay more money, it’s a broken process in my opinion. I had to pay for my uni to send the transcripts, then AHPRA to send my registration and they take months before they even look at them.
