Not sure if it has been made already, but I decided to make a forum for Spring 2019 applicants for Sacramento State!
Not that I've seen or heard about, but keep checking the website. If you haven't had a chance to go to one yet, I'd strongly recommend it. There are little tid-bits of information shared in the advising session that aren't posted anywhere on the site, and the chance to ask Terri questions directly is invaluable.
On the subject of applications, I WAS feeling okay but after going through this thread I am getting that panic-pit in my stomach. I have a 69... Anyway, here's my breakdown for SP19:
Adjusted Nursing GPA: 4.0 (40 points)
Non-Adjusted Nursing GPA: 3.850
TEAS: 92.0 (22 points)
Health Related Work Experience: 100 hours (3 points)
First Generation College Student: (4 points)
Looking forward to the communication on this thread, good luck everyone!
Definitely a little panicky about what the statistics will be this semester. I feel like the new criteria does fix some of the issues arising in the past, but I also believe they lowered points on some pretty arbitrary criteria like the health experience or not having an economic background section in general. Just hoping for the best over here!
GPA: 4.0 (40 pts)
TEAS: 94.0 (24 pts)
Health Experience: 100 hrs (3 pts)
No omission (2 pts)
No repeats (2 pts)
Overall: 71 pts
Does anyone know why they delayed the application period? Do you think it will thin out the number of applicants at all? I was just thinking that some people might be thrown off by the dates being changed. Probably not, though. It seems that anyone who applies to Sac is so on top of it that they could fly an airplane, drink coffee, apply mascara AND submit their Supplemental Application at the same time. Weird things do happen, though... I saw one girl last year on AllNurses that would have gotten in (without question), but she forgot to pay her Application Processing fee. Yikes! I definitely learned from her mistake. Triple checked my bank account, lol.
etodd - Right?! Why did they suddenly make Healthcare Experience 3 points instead of 4? I'm embarrassed to admit that I was a little miffed when I saw that...
As far as the economic background: From what I remember, Terri said it was too difficult for students to actually qualify for it and that maybe 2 or 3 applicants actually got the points every semester, sometimes none. So they scratched it.
Hi All. I'm still debating on whether or not I should apply. I have either 67 or 64 points. So far the lowest on this forum. I don't know if i'll get the language points which is why I'm either 64 or 67. I have a language verification for one of their approved languages but I did not get approved by someone at CSU sac (I live way too far to have gone out there). I'm most likely at 64 points. Any advice since the app is due tomorrow? If money wasn't an issue I would def just submit my application but the $35 app fee + $30 teas transcript is making me reconsider.
Hey, Future(hopefully)!!!
Happy to share the 60's with someone, I was pretty lonely there for a bit... I say turn it in. You might not get accepted (I'm in the same boat), but wouldn't you kick yourself if you would have made the cutoff point and never tried? There is no harm in submitting an application, and if they don't take your language documentation then you'll know for next time :)
I THINK the application is due by midnight tonight (by October 1st, not necessarily on October 1st?) so if you are able to submit tonight you should. Just to be safe.
Good luck! If you don't mind me asking, what are your points broken down? GPA, TEAS, Extra PTS (I know those might vary...)
Since it says the deadline is "October 1, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time", that would mean tomorrow right before midnight! If it was October 1, 12:00am, then I believe that would mean tonight.
My stats are:
GPA: 4.0
Teas: 87
additional points for: health care experience (only one point), first gen college student, no courses omitted, no repeated courses and *possibly* language
