CSUS Sacramento State Spring 2019

Published

Not sure if it has been made already, but I decided to make a forum for Spring 2019 applicants for Sacramento State!

Nice, thanks for setting it up.

How does everyone feel about the new criteria?

Not sure, I feel like CSU - Sac is still slightly out of my reach but I'll be applying there anyways. Does anyone know why they changed their criteria like twice now within a short span? I just read on the Fall 2018, they changed their criteria and when I try to gauge my own points with the current one, I noticed it didn't match up at all. What are they trying to change?

To be honest, not quite sure why Sac State decided to change criteria for Fall of '18 in the first place, maybe trying to hit some internal demographic goals or something. I think after the Fall '18 numbers came in, they realized they had kind of screwed up in setting the criteria, and so for Spring '19 are attempting to walk back a few of the changes. I think it's a little more equitable this go round, but I still think the ability for applicants to drop two courses is, for lack of a better term, stupid. Who knows how the numbers will shape up this application period, but at least they have been responsive to the fact that the Fall '18 criteria was not well received.

At least they give points to those that didn't use the two class drop. Though for me, I am using it and honestly the points increase from GPA is far more worth than the 2 points that they give especially considering I have a pretty high teas score. I don't think I'll make it this time around as sac state is just that competitive for me but who knows.

what's the rough point total you think you'll be applying with?

72

40 GPA

26 TEAS

4 First Gen

2 No Repeats

you don't think you have a good chance with that? I'm at the border of 71:

40 GPA

23 TEAS (93.3)

3 clinical experience

3 2nd language

2 no drop from adjusted

and I was feeling alright but now you've got me thinking...

Hello everyone! Just here to put down my stats for Spring 2019 as well. Hopefully I've calculated everything correctly.

Total: 70

GPA: 40

TEAS: 20 (90.7)

Health experience: 3

Bilingual exam: 3

No repeats: 2

No courses omitted: 2

I thought this score was solid enough, but looking at past influx of number of candidates, it's difficult to know right now, of course. It looks like everyone so far is around the 70s. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi there - I am a second bachelor transfer student, applying to the Spring 2019 BSN. I completed the application on cal state apply, but have not yet received an email prompting me to create the saclink account?? Has anyone received their SACLINK account prompt yet? I wrote Teri Tallmen at sac state (as instructed on the second bachelor FAQ), but got an email back saying that they are not responding to individual emails!

I got mine because they sent me an email early on to do some financial aid stuff? It's strange because they told me I would have to do stuff after I get accepted. Anyways I called them and they gave my ID and I forgot the process to make a Sac Acc but it shouldn't be that hard if you know your student ID.

Hmmm, so maybe I should just give someone a call over there? What number did you call? I am just discouraged by the email that told me they aren't answering emails or phone calls (hahaha)! I'll keep trying... Thank you for your response!
