  1. Just received the official HR letter for E2 - Medical / Oncology ICU. It is mostly the same for everyone, except things like department and reporting manager is different for everyone. For those who received email, reminder to respond to our point-of-contact by tomorrow 5:00 p.m. PST!
  2. I’m thinking not all unit managers called and decided to have HR contact officially. My unit manager told me that the person usually doesn’t take longer than a week to send out notices and to contact him if it doesn’t come by this Friday.
  3. I received second interview for one of the ICU's :)!
  4. -------------------- mentioned that they were focusing on ICU/ED these last couple of days and when they are done being notified, he will focus on Med/Surg/Tele/Onc later. "If you are not selected for an interview, you will receive a final notification by Sunday 5/9 (if not sooner)".
  5. I received an email today asking about the status of my license or test date for NCLEX. At the time I applied, I did not have it yet. I was told to respond within 48 hours so that the information can be forwarded to the leadership team. After I responded I received an email from our point of contact for an ICU spot! Good luck everyone!
  6. Mine didn't have it either! But I'm assuming they caught that omission and started adding it!
  7. Hi everyone! Congrats on those who has gotten interviews so far! I wanted to pop in and ask whether or not people received an email this morning about the "Update #3" ----------------- posted on facebook? I'm curious if it was a pan-email sent out to every applicant or just interviewees. I have not or have yet to receive anything else.
  8. Hello everyone, my name is Kevin and I am now a 3rd semester student. I'll be attempting to join your facebook group. Congrats to EVERYONE who will be attending our program. It will be great I promise! Reach out to me on facebook when I join the page with any concerns you may have. I will either answer you or refer you to someone you could contact.
  9. Hi guys, someone should start a CSUS Nursing Class of Spring 2021 (Your graduation class Semester/Year) if you haven't already! I will try to join it once it is made!
  10. Congrats on those accepted! For those on wait list you might have a chance still! It does not mean you guys are not good enough to be a nurse so do not take it personally!
  11. No, it means exactly what it says it means. Meaning that if you passed your AP exam, it will not count towards your GPA calculation. Therefore, it would in turn make the effective weight of the other classes you took weigh more (unless you have the same grades for the rest of the classes). Think of average of n=100 vs n=2. Hope that helps!
  12. If you are 100% sure, then yes you are in the program. Thing is, I thought I had a certain amounts of points which was above the threshold but it ended up being a tad bit lower than I calculated because of how they viewed a class I took at one of my three schools...I still got in on the first try without being wait listed. I mean it took me by surprise because I had checked with them prior that they wouldn't use that particular course because it wasn't applicable but they ended up using it anyways. I mean, I don't want to tell you not be worried but just wait until that final release letter to jump with joy =). And trust me, we know how hard it is. We had our admission letters delayed for several weeks because of the fires and with a newly hired admissions coordinator who is wonderful by the way. They would tell us a date and push back. Not their fault of course, but man the stress in this forum was unreal.
  13. I would say occasionally. I say you have quite a few towards the beginning. One thing I love about Sac State is that all you have to do is TRY and do your best and actively participate. I have done research on my schools and other people's experiences in programs across the nation and sim labs in other programs are a huge part of your grade and add to the stress of nursing school. Here, it is about participation and practice and you get a few points for it pass or no pass essentially. I know that is more information than you asked for but it doesn't hurt to give it to you. I would say don't worry about it. Do some prep if you can so you don't look bad and do your best.
  14. Hi everyone, sorry for being so late but I am also a first semester student and just want to wish everyone good luck with admissions! I will try to answer any other questions you guys may have about the program ? To the person before, Peds rotation is done 3rd semester with OB! Second semester is Mental Health and ICU. I hope to see some of you next semester or during orientation. It is a bit hectic in the beginning and because the cohort is so huge, it is hard orient yourselves. @anyn What subject areas do you need help on? If English (grammar), one of them, I forgot the app but there was this TEAS practice test with all the sections though I found it only useful for the grammar portion. I found it worthwhile. It was the area I am not good at and I got over 90% in that category just by practicing that. It's called ATI TEAS Practice Test on Androids.
  15. I have a question. So when you got waitlisted last year, did they convert your class units into 4 units instead of 5 which gave you a 3.44 instead of a 3.5? For me, they waitlisted me because my quarter unit Chemistry course is 2.666 when converted into semester. And that would've given me 3.81. But they just put it as a 4 unit course and made my gpa into a 3.65 which makes me lose a point.
