CSUS Sacramento State Spring 2019

Published

Not sure if it has been made already, but I decided to make a forum for Spring 2019 applicants for Sacramento State!

Hello everyone, anyone have an idea/their own assumption of what the cutoff would be?

If I had to spitball it, I'd say either 70 or 71 will end up being the cutoff point. Probably 71.

I feel the same, 70 seems about right.

I actually feel like it actually might be a point lower than 70, so about 69 at the absolute lowest. I tried to gauge this by looking at statistics from the most recent semesters, and looking at the range between cut-off and the maximum amount of points possible. At its narrowest range (Fall 2018), it was 21 points (cut-off: 79 points, maximum: 100 points) , and the semester before that, Spring 2018 it was 28 points (cut-off 84 points, max was 112 points).

I do realize that the overall point system was changed, but if I were to guess this would have to be it. I realize this is flawed but I am also trying to be as optimistic as I can be with trying to get into this nursing program, as I have tried multiple times already.

I have 69 points and I am hopeful. Just in case anyone is curious:

4.0 GPA (adjusted, 2 omitted but no repeats)- 40 points

91.3 TEAS- 21 points

130 hours of volunteer experience- 3 points

Bilingual Proficiency- 3 points

No repeated pre/corequisite courses- 2 points

Total: 69 points

If your score is on the lower end, do not be discouraged! Please keep trying, you deserve it for yourself!

Best of luck to everyone applying this semester! You're a trooper :)

frnnmw, thank you for that super positive post! The new Extra Criteria option for "no repeats" will help you this semester! Have you been just a few points shy the other times you've applied?

Hi everyone!

I am applying with 69 points.

4.0 adjusted (2 omits), but 3.8 non-adjusted

health exp, second language (don't know if it is approved), first gen, no repeats.

I am hoping for the best as well!! Good luck to everyone!

Just an update, I didn't end up applying for anyone who was wondering. I hope you all get in!

I heard that they won't be giving out a preliminary email this year. Is this true?

That would be excruciating. How could they not send out a preliminary email? Is this true?

I think they didn't send out the preliminary email because they accepted applications late...I wonder if they would delay notifications later too. It's so painful to wait especially when deadlines are due... Has anyone heard anything so far or has called them?

I haven't received anything yet. Was hoping for the preliminary... Had no idea we weren't going to get one :/

I don't mind reaching out to Terri via email, I can ask her about what's going on? No promises on a response, though. She's probably super busy. If she does get back to me, I'll let you guys know ASAP.

Side note: future(hopefully) I'm bummed to hear you didn't end up applying! Next semester, though. You got this :)

JK... I knew she was retiring, but thought it would be in the spring. Her last day was yesterday. Dang. I know there was another person to reach out to, I'll dig around and see who it is. Unless you guys know off the top of your head?
