Hi Everyone! I was searching around and couldn't seem to find a thread for the spring and fall 2016 ABSN program at CSUN. Hopefully we can use this thread to talk to and support each other as we go on this crazy journey

Hi Apisha,

I received an email from the nursing department at the end of January:

A-BSN Application Status

Dear A-BSN Applicant,

Your application has been reviewed and is complete. Your application has been referred to the Nursing Admission Committee to be reviewed for admission to the nursing program.

Email letters are scheduled to be sent out in the later part of March 2016.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Last year's acceptance emails started appearing in people's inboxes around mid March. We have a week or two to go if it's the same as last year.

I got an email from the nursing department awhile ago notifying me that they've received my complete application, but I have yet to hear anything about my general CSUN application. Does anyone know when final acceptances to CSUN itself will be sent out?

I had to call admissions and they told me about my "acceptance" to the university before my portal was updated. This was about 2 weeks ago. They've since updated my portal and I'm just waiting on the nursing dept. The suspension of their ABSN for the 2017 application period does have me a little weirded out and makes me even more thankful I've received an acceptance from another university.

That is weird. Does anyone have an idea as to why they would be suspending the ABSN application period for 2017?

Thanks anklowss, I think I'll just give them a call and check the status.

And yeah...does anyone know why they've suspended their ABSN program starting in 2017? I wonder how that will affect the 2016 classes...

I called a couple weeks ago to get confirmation on the program's suspension for the 2017 cycle, it's true. The office wasn't willing to give any other details except for the generic response that the university is reviewing the program. I agree it doesn't bode well for the 2016 cohort.

I hope I get into one program or another. The idea of having to go through all of this again is deeply disheartening.
