  1. Previous cohorts on allnurses said the online status never changes (I don't know the credibility of those statements).
  2. It sounds like questionnaires have been sent to some of the applicants. Not me though. I haven't seen this mentioned in previous cohorts on Allnurses. Have any of you received the questionnaire? Should I be nervous?
  3. Steph2488, I did not attend the Q&A. Did you? Was there any good info?
  4. I know of another person that was called for an interview and they had also applied to 6 east. Some floors may be moving through the decision phase faster than others. I also thought it was weird that she got the call before the application cycle had closed. So, who knows what it all means.
  5. In response to Miss_Lucy I tried to explain what interested me about the specific specialty, what I look to gain from the program, and what I bring to the hospital. List those points and expound. With that said, I don't know if it worked. We have yet to hear back. :) Don't get overwhelmed by the worry. Someone once told me that you will find the place that is right for you if you are honest and put yourself out there. Write down something and submit it. Good luck!
  6. Hey all, I also applied to the NICU. So nervous. Does anyone know when we might be hearing back in regards to our applications?
  7. To answer your first question, the CSUN ABSN requires a BA or BS. It also sounds like 2016 is the last ABSN cohort (closing down the program). As a CNA and Pierce student you have a few options worth investigating. Does your employer offer tuition assistance? If you are working in a hospital as a CNA you might want to see what tuition assistance programs they have. That would be a good signifier of whether to take the LVN or RN route. Lastly, another avenue to look at is the ADN program at Pierce. CSUN and Pierce have a bridge program. After completing an ADN at Pierce you take an additional semester or two at CSUN to complete a BSN. Good luck.
  8. Tomorrow is the big day! Good luck everyone.
  9. Was waitlisted, but received official rejection letter today. Good luck for anyone still on the waitlist. Side note, I know what the rejection letter looks like now! I got that going for me.
  10. I think it was around the 17th.
  11. @sonnynm, I noticed the same thing. It's also true for the year before last. I was thinking the first group of acceptances will hear something by end of day Friday. Thinking about all this leaves me with a nugget of panic deep in my belly. I can't wait for all this to be over.
  12. FYI...if anyone is feeling extreme apprehension about the 2016 cohort in light of next year's program suspension, University of San Francisco is still taking applications for their MECN program. Here is a link to the website. The program is located at their Orange County campus. Entry Level (MSN) | University of San Francisco One more option out there if need be.
  13. I called a couple weeks ago to get confirmation on the program's suspension for the 2017 cycle, it's true. The office wasn't willing to give any other details except for the generic response that the university is reviewing the program. I agree it doesn't bode well for the 2016 cohort. I hope I get into one program or another. The idea of having to go through all of this again is deeply disheartening.
  14. Last year's acceptance emails started appearing in people's inboxes around mid March. We have a week or two to go if it's the same as last year. Good luck.
