Is anyone applying to CSUN's ABSN program (2014 cohort)??? I know their application deadline is coming up but the info on their website is out of date and there's no application available on the site. I tried contacting the department via email and phone but no response/answer. Anyone having better luck applying than me?
I’ve created a Facebook Group for UCLA MECN applicants.
The name of the group is: UCLA MECN Applicants for entry in Fall 2014.
Please join the group!
The group is for UCLA MECN applicants and those who have applied to other schools in Southern California to discuss all issues and concerns regarding the application and selection process. One of the goals of this forum is to help members make a more informed decision regarding which nursing program to attend. To that end, please feel free to discuss other nursing programs to which you have applied.
Hi everyone! I sent both envelops on (Ho-Ho) November, 27... I decided to apply after attending the information session. This day was not actually my lucky day because I still can not see "delivered" on USPS web site, but admission received my transcripts... I tried to call to the nursing department but they did not open our letters yet... well we ll see ... Anyway, I planned to apply next year.
My status online says I have been provisionally admitted, but no packet in the mail yet. That is exciting twineejoy704! Even though I know it's the nursing dept that matters, it's still nice to get a little update from the school :)
So does anybody know what is supposed to be happening right now? Lol I feel that for this program I'm just going to receive a letter sometime around April (if that) telling me whether I got in or not. I never received any info telling me they received everything and I can't check whether they received my final Fall transcripts.
I know they don't do interviews or tests. At this point are we all just waiting to hear a yes or no down the line? I feel so clueless!
Yes, I think we are all waiting. I haven't heard fromthem either. I think we just wait for an email stating we get in or not. I hope it's not until Apritl that is too long. Maybe mid March?
For everyone out there do you guys know of any nursing programs out of state that have the same pre req's as CSUN and doesn't require a TEAS test. Perferably an Accerlerated program. I have my BS in Community Health and getting my Masters in Public Health right now, but I would surely put that on hold if I do get in a nursing program.
Well...best of luck to all

I know the application deadline is over, but most of all I am commenting for those who maybe will run into this or plan on applying next year for Fall 2015. Getting answers via email/ phone is very difficult so I recommend going to an information session. It is very helpful, you get your questions answered and you get a better feel of the program. The program from what I heard is fairly new in terms to other programs so they are still developing their applications, process and communication matters.
So out of all this, go to the information session. In fact going to all the info sessions in any program you are interested in is always a good idea.
Good luck to all.
