I also received an email this morning, and #49 on the waitlist. Not sure if that gives me any chance of actually getting in, but i'm planning to start CSUN's program this summer. I'm looking forward to getting done with the RN portion fast :)

For those of you who were able to switch orientation dates, were they pretty ok with the switch? I'm in the Summer cohort and just asked if I could attend the Fall orientation being held on the 25th. I have flights booked for the Easter weekend, and they were booked weeks ago.

Got into Summer 2014!!! So excited! Yes, has anyone started a facebook group? Also, has anyone heard if you can switch to Fall. I can make Summer work, but Fall would be much better for me in terms of coordinating with work. I plan to stop working before starting school, but there are 4 people out during the summer on maternity leave.

Just got a call for an interview! This is my 1st choice so I'm so excited! Hang in there guys, sounds like they are still making calls!

No, they haven't contacted me for an interview for the scholarship. Have they contacted you? I received an email in early Feb confirming that they received my packet. The email said "Should you be selected for a panel interview with nursing leadership, you will be sent an interview invite via email. Scholarship awarded students will be notified of this decision by April 16, 2013." I'm guessing that invitations for interviews will go out soon...but not sure.

I also applied for summer 2014! Anxious! I received an email last week that my packet was complete and all transcripts were received. Email said that I should know a decision within 30 days. I also applied to all three scholarship options. Hope I get in!!!

For those who were admitted, did you have to order and send your TEAS scores directly to the school? I uploaded a copy of my results to my application (new version). I am applying for Fall 2014 and submit my application last week. Also, I mailed all my transcripts last week. How long did it take for the school to review transcripts now that they have a new application process?

Are they doing interviews now? I thought this school did not conduct interviews.

I spoke with the nursing department today. They said they just started opening the applications this week and plan to start emailing updates to students in March. I confirmed that the CSUN portal is only for admissions and records so nursing school updates would not post to that.

Hey everyone! I'm gathering all my transcripts to send to CSU San Marcos for Summer and Fall. From previous posts, sounds like the turnaround for transcript evals is 2-4 weeks. I'm about to submit my application online and noticed that they only give me the option to select Fall 2014. Has anyone else experienced this? Please let me know if there are any recent updates on the Summer cohort. Fingers crossed!

I also did not get in. My counselor said that I had a competitive application, but needed more patient care experience. I work in a hospital but i'm not a cna or emt. I have a 4.0 in pre-reqs, a bachelor's degree, TEAS of 86 and volunteer in the hospital. She suggested I raise my TEAS and volunteer more. Not very sure if I will continue to apply to WGU since my experience with them has been a bit disappointing. Plus, they only notify students 2-3 weeks before they are expected to start. I don't think that the short notice is very reasonable, especially since I'd have to completely change my work schedule. I will be applying to several other schools in southern CA, but it's really competitive out here. If I don't get in anywhere I will reconsider applying to WGU in the late summer. Good luck to those who got in!

Has anyone who applied to the Pasadena Jan 1st prelicensure cohort heard back?

I also keep checking the website for updates but haven't seen any. Based on last year's forums I'm sure they will update info soon since they start accepting applications Oct. 1st.

I spoke with my counselor yesterday, I also did not get in . I have found WGU incredibly frustrating. I initially applied July of last year. Since then, I was being considered for the 2012 class but my counselor said they pushed up the class and I wasn't notified or considered until it was too late. They have changed the prerequisites at least 3 times, forcing me to take several unnecessary classes. My science GPA is 4.0, TEAS was 87, already have a bachelors degree and I am a Cedars employee. My counselor suggested I volunteer, to which I said "if you look at my application I've been volunteering for one year in Cedars' RN shadow program". It feels like she didn't even bother reading my application. She also said that a CNA license would make me more competetive. This is something they should have said a year ago. I'm debating applying to the Pasadena program in January. My experience with WGU has just been so frustrating that I think I should just apply to other programs.
