Published

Hey everyone,

I want to apply for csulb nursing program for spring 2015 cohort, is there anybody here who is applying for spring also? Do you think spring cohort is easier to get in?

Here is the generic Nursing Course Outline for the program. You can see that NUTR 339 is a single unit course listed for 1st semester. In addition, you can see the 9 required Group F 'Capstone' units are listed separately in semesters 5 and 6.

Haha, All I know is what I heard at orientation and that it does count as a capstone. I just want to survive first semester, let alone think about 5 and 6. Sorry, I am struggling to keep up with the program at the moment, so there is a lot on my mind. I wish you luck my friend, go get em!

Ok, well good thank you, and good luck with those courses… I didn't mean to ruffle more feathers, and I certainly do not envy your stress level right now…

That being said, I will have to double check on that Capstone requirement and get back to everyone. I'm sure this little dialogue has thoroughly confused us all at this point…lol

Yeah, I'm sorry if I sounded mean or anything, but that's the anxiety/ stress talking.

NOTHING is guaranteed!!! Especially when it comes to post-grad employment… Many students get offers, but a considerable percentage of them are not so lucky…

And, maybe someone else can chime in, but I have never--personally--heard of having your student loans paid-off by a future employer… That would be awesome, but I definitely would not count on it…

Expect to pay for this thing, or get many loan$ (I have so many already, I just don't care anymore…lol)

I do believe some military and prison systems might have loan pay-off programs like this…. (but, no thanks)

There is the Nurse Corps Scholarship program which pays for tuition and expenses in exchange for 2 years of service in an area with a critical shortage of nursing. It is competitive and depends on financial need, and also we missed this year's deadline due to our start in spring semester.

Does anyone know by what time you have to accept your offer? since the email we got saying we were accepted, said we would still be receiving our acceptance letter and our contract?

You have till December 1st.

Hey All,

I created a Facebook group that we can all join (for those of us who have Facebook). Just log in and search 'CSU Long Beach Nursing 2015' and click join group. This way we have a way to network and get to know each other while promoting useful information! Look forward to seeing you guys on there!

I am also looking for roommates to cut back on the costs! we should maybe start a facebook group to help keep us all in contact wth each other :)

I think someone made a facebook page already:) yeah if u want to discuss a housing situation you can email me at [email protected]
