Hey everyone,

I want to apply for csulb nursing program for spring 2015 cohort, is there anybody here who is applying for spring also? Do you think spring cohort is easier to get in?

I just received the official acceptance letterfrom SON. Attached is the cotract we have to sign and submit by December 1st.

@limorgolan Do you know if the SON accepts titers done more than a year ago?

Titer results DO NOT expire. According to the CSULB Nursing Student handbook 2014.

arghh..sigh

guys I got my Tdap 3 years ago at my high school but if I lost my records of it, then I should obviously get a new Tdap vaccine right?

man this sucks :(( this is what happens when you don't organize your stuff.

Do you know where I can get Tdap?

arghh..sigh

If you're still a student at any school you can get it from the health services bldg. I got mine from my community college.

thank you. I shall go check my health office...

I know… I DO NOT want another vaccine… I don't believe in them anyway… I know I had my Tdap, but I can't remember where I got it, and I have no records.

On top of that, they will not let me submit a quantitative titer to PROVE I am vaccinated for Pertussis/Diphtheria… that is so HORRIBLE !!! Why can't I show them, why do I need ANOTHER injection of POISON?!?!? ArrrHggGGGG!!!

THey will take Titers for ALL the other immunizations, why not Tdap?!?! I know the Tetorifice must me boostered, maybe diphtheria, but DEFINITELY NOT the Pertussis, especially if your titer SHOWS YOUR SUFFICIENT ANTIBODY LEVELS… this is ridiculous……

Got into Sac state so i will be giving up my spot to an alternate once i fill out the paper :)

Hey guys,

I read in the orientation packet that a qualitative titer for Hep B is acceptable but mine does not include a numeric value, it just states that I'm positive for sufficient antibody levels. Do you think I should get it redone somewhere else (I originally did it at Kaiser)?

That IS a qualitative test is. No numerical value, just positive or negative.

"A note about Hep B: Although we prefer Quantitative titers for every

requirement, it is very difficult to find a lab that provides this type of

test. Therefore, if you can’t find it, then QUALITATIVE will be accepted

– as long as you are provided a numeric value!"

Yeah, I know the test I had done was a qualitative test. I'm confused because the orientation packet says a qualitative test will be accepted "as long as you are provided a numeric value."

Ya, that was even confusing in the orientation...

basically, no numeric value = no good.

That's what I got out of it

hi guys,

I'm applying for Fall 2015 and was wondering, does everyone who's above a certain point cutoff have to do the interview or only the people who are on the fence. I ask because I live 7 hours away from Long Beach + I'm just curious. Also, what's the interview like? thanks for any help =]
