CSULB Spring 2015
"A note about Hep B: Although we prefer Quantitative titers for every requirement, it is very difficult to find a lab that provides this type of test. Therefore, if you can’t find it, then QUALITATIVE will be accepted – as long as you are provided a numeric value!" Yeah, I know the test I had done was a qualitative test. I'm confused because the orientation packet says a qualitative test will be accepted "as long as you are provided a numeric value."

Hey guys, I read in the orientation packet that a qualitative titer for Hep B is acceptable but mine does not include a numeric value, it just states that I'm positive for sufficient antibody levels. Do you think I should get it redone somewhere else (I originally did it at Kaiser)?

At the communication exercise, I was told that they were thinking of making the orientation on December 19th. I'm pretty sure that was just a tentative date but it should be some time around that.

I don't know if I was the only one who had this concern but I will address it just in case. I didn't know whether or not I should wait to pay the $150 to accept my acceptance to the university since the SON didn't send us the email yet but I called the SON to ask and was told to pay it. As someone already stated here, I was told "we haven't sent out emails yet because we are still looking for a room to hold the orientation in" and she ended the call with a "congratulations." Basically, if you got the email from the university stating you've been accepted and don't know if you should go ahead and pay the $150, go ahead and pay! (thankfully, my fee got waived!)

My group was told that we shouldn't contact them until after Thansgiving. I'm pretty surprised because I thought they were just saying that and we would have found out by now!

It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, it went pretty well actually! My group was told that we will be notified if we are alternates or not after the interview. We were told someone is placed as an alternate if they didn't do great on the communication exercise and will possibly be placed in the program at a later time or if someone who is accepted declines their acceptance. With that said, however, we were also told it's very unlikely for someone to be rejected after getting invited to the communication exercise.

I also got an email for the interview. I have 9.306 points though, unless I calculated it incorrectly! And how do you know if you're on the alternate list or not?
