Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.
I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

I'm a current student. I just sent it in email.

I just got accepted ?
TEAS: 85.3%
GPA: 3.96
Volunteer hours: 100
Wow congrats on your acceptance, that’s amazing!! I see that you specialize in 2 years of pre nursing, did CSULA change the number of years as a pre nursing Major from 2 years to 1? I noticed that the 2019 pre nursing group had to take 2 years before applying to PACSON and now it’s different ?

Hi there ! I'm a first year student and I was offered admission into the program. Yes you're correct, they did change the pre-nursing major from 2 years to 1. This means that you will be taking all of your pre-reqs in 2 semesters, as opposed to 4. In addition, you will also take the TEAS and apply to the nursing program in the fall as well.

There are 3 Upper Division General Education classes you need to take. You need to take one from each block (B, C & D) there’s a wide range of course such as English, psychology, language, art etc. you can pick any course as long as you take 1 from each block and 1 of them has to have a civic learning (cl) requirement.

I already took these in CC. I completed all of my GEs. Are these additional? Where can I find these classes? Thank you!

You have to take your Upper Division GEs at CSULA you can’t take them anywhere else so yes they’d be additional to whatever you took at your CC. If you Google “CSULA upper division GEs” it should be the first thing that comes up ?

You’re welcome! We took it online but I’m not sure how long they’ll be offering it online for. The test wasn’t shortened but I finished with a lot of extra time left so make sure to take your time (if you take it online) because you’ll have plenty of it! You can take it whenever they have the dates listed pretty much everyday at different times so you just select whenever it suits you. You can either take it under a “school” or with ATI TEAS personally I took it with ATI not under a particular school, you’ll see when you check out the website.
