CSULA Fall 2021

Published

Hi all!
I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSULA Fall 2021 for the BSN Nursing track in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.

I was wondering if anyone has applied and knew if CSULA requires verification for volunteer hours in their NursingCAS application portion? Also, will they accept any amount of volunteer hours under 50? I know you can add a document. Thank you!

Would anyone also happen to know when I would be taking the TEAS exam and how many times I am able to take it? (I am currently a senior in HS by the way if that helps)

You can only take it twice a year and you have to have at least 3 weeks between taking them. You would need to take it this year as the nursing application opens in October and closes in January. So theoretically you could take it 3 times before submitting your application if you needed to, twice this year and once next January.

Did you guys send in your preliminary transcripts and is it still showing in your to-do list?

I sent mine about a week ago and it was received by CSULA a few days ago. Now it's already taken off my to-do list.

Hey ya'll I made this fb group so we can connect! this is my first time making a fb group so please let me know if its not working LOL.

OMG actually ignore that LOL I just refreshed the page and saw the other person who made the fb group already haha.

I got into the nursing program for the fall, and I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). I haven't gotten any response from her, did she respond back to anyone else?

She replied to me pretty quickly after I emailed her. Did you send your email to the right address? The one they put on the acceptance email? If you did maybe follow up with her.

She replied to me the day after I resent my email. Maybe email her again since today is the last day to accept based on the email?

I emailed again and I made sure I sent it to that email. I’m not sure what to do if she doesn’t respond.

Thank you so much @norifice8. With this whole Covid year did you guys take the TEAS online? Was the test shortened? And is anyone allowed to take the test at anytime or are there specific test dates made for TEAS test takers.

Yup it was online and it was not shortened though, it is the same length that it usually would be in-person. It's still proctored so you have to have your webcam on. However, by the time you take it, they might make it in-person (who knows though). There are specific dates and times that are available on the official ATI TEAS website. They only put in dates for just the next 3 months sometimes, so if you're taking it way later they will put in more dates later on. Also, you will notice that there are different schools listed for each testing date. Since it is online, you can take it under any school because it's the same test. But there are like 2 schools that specifically say only take it if you go to that specific school. But other than that it doesn't matter, I took it under San Diego State Uni.
