CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)

Updated:   Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

its already september yet there is still nothing on the website :dead: anyways what your guys's option if you don't get into the programs?:/

I'm counting on getting in! Lol. I'm gonna apply to LA, SB, and LB. If I don't get in, I will apply to community colleges. :( What about you? And why the heck is there nothing on the website yet?! wah :(

i did but she says that what i'm doing is patient related because i am interacting with people and helping out ?

As long as there's some patient-related duties in your job description, you should be fine. If you're worried about it, call Monica Ling @CSULA and verify.

Application is going to be posted on the CSULA website on September 28.

This was posted on CSULA website.

The part about new application procedures and deadlines is scaring me ?

Applications - BSN Basic

Summer 2016 Application Procedure

Fall 2016 application instructions are expected to be posted soon.

The application period will be from September 28th 2015 to January 4th 2016

NOTE: There are new application procedures and requirement deadlines

I think it might have something to do with the quarter to semester conversion starting on Fall 2016 :( And I certainly don't like changes either :

Sorry for the late response ? ! I will thank you so much! have you guys thought about posting everyone's points in a list so you guys can know what the cut off will be!

Yeah, I think we should definitely do a list. I don't think we know our points yet since some of us haven't done our TEAS yet and are still enrolled in prerequisites. Hopefully people will post their scores as soon as they know them! ?

If I plan on taking the philosophy 160 during the spring, do u think I will still be able to apply for Fall'16 ??

Hey everyone. I would like to apply for Fall 2016 but I still need to take Physiology and Oral Communication, which I am taking next semester. Do you know if I can still apply while having those classes in progress? CSULA's website just updated for Summer 2016.. I don't think I can apply for that one. :/ Help!

Okay I'm a half hour ahead and I'm SO LOST on this nursingca website thing for the application.

I submitted my official transcripts to the CSULA office of admission, do I need to send them again to the nursing department?

Also, what's with this I'm seeing on the nursingca.org Transcript Matching Form

NursingCAS - Central Application Service

Instructions to the Registrar

Please attach this form directly to the official transcript for the above applicant and forward the official transcript (see requirements below) in a sealed envelope directly to:

NursingCAS Transcript Processing Center P.O. Box 9201

Watertown, MA 02471

The transcript must meet the requirements below to be considered official by NursingCAS

  • A Registrar's seal and/or legible signature included on the transcript.
  • Must be mailed directly to NursingCAS from the Registrar's Office.
  • Cannot be marked Issued to Student or Student Copy.
  • Must reflect all relevant, correct information for the student

Am I supposed to send another set of transcripts to that address or the CSULA nursing department?
And on the "Transcript Entry", Am I supposed to manually put all the pre rew classes I took there?

Because if I need to send another sent of transcripts I'm gonna slam my head on my desk because I just spent 61 bucks >.>

I got an AA degree in Health Science, but I put minor in NURSING,

I CAN'T EDIT THIS. I'm scared. :grumpy:

I've been waiting and I finished all pre req and TEAS. I'm just waiting to finish my application to get it over with.

I have over 200+ hours of clinical direct patient care. I am a volunteer at a hospital and work as a MA for a retirement home. I take vitals 2x a month but also clerical work and on call. That counts right?

Hi all,

I'm currently finishing up Micro this Fall semester. I am currently at 24pts out of 28.

I have taken the TEAS and I will be taking it again to hopefully increase my points.

Do we need to manually input every single class we took in the nursingcas.org?
