  1. You really shouldn't be spending that much money on NCLEX studying material. I used Uworld and Saunders and passed with 75 questions. Do as much questions as you can in uworld (min 75 questions every day), write down every single rationale keep them in a binder and review them at the end of each week. Good luck!
  2. You can click my name and just shoot me any questions you have:) I actually didn't volunteer in a hospital. My friend use to work as a front desk receptionist in a surgery center and she was able to get me in there to volunteer. You don't necessarily have to volunteer in a hospital (best if you can get in but their volunteer positions do fill up fast and they usually require people to commit a minimal of 100 to 200 hours i think), as long as you are interacting with people you will be fine. So maybe you can try to look into your local nursing homes, or clinics if you can't get into hospitals.
  3. Hi I applied for PCC Fall 2016 , I was on the wailist but I wasn't accpeted. Even though I wasn't accpeted, I can still give you some insights about applying the program. First, you do need to volunteer for at least 200 hours in either a hospital or clinical setting that will give you chances to interact with patients and your volunteer duties must be specificlly stated on the volunteer certificate. Second, PCC choose students base on a point system, so you really want to get As or Bs in your pre-reqs. My pre-req GPA was around 3.7 to 3.8 ish. My TEAS score was 80% and that wasn't good enough to compete with the top sutdents so you really want to get at least 90%. Also, you want to keep in mind that PCC is VERY VERY hard to get into, so you might want to apply several RN programs. Btw, I am now attending LA County School of Nursing and I'm loving it so far. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions;)
  4. For those who are waiting for livescan results, apparently you have to call the school to find out yourself cause my friend told me she called on Friday morning and they told her hers is cleared. I then called them immediately Friday afternoon, but no one picked up so I left a message.
  5. My stats are as below: overall GPA: around 3.5 ish science GPA :4.0 TEAS: 80% I think ELAC has a random lottery system, so I think as long as your GPA is not too bad and TEAS is above the required passing percentage you will have a equal chance as everyone else:) good luck!
  6. I got in too!!! Can't wait to officially start my nursing journey!
  7. congrats! Yup, cause it says "All eligible applicants will be selected by lottery and names will be placed in the semester according to their lottery number". But I am not sure about wait list:/ I thought we already got it, why is there another wait list?
  8. Is LAC gonna email or mail the results? I already got two rejections from other schoolsrecently I hope I will hear something good soon
  9. I see! :) thank you so much for the info. I can't wait to start the program!!!
  10. congrats! Do you know when we will be starting? Also have you heard about the program being on "warning" ? is this going to affect us?
  11. thanks! They mass emailed everyone who got accepted, but don't loose hope yet cuz I'm sure not everyone is gonna accept the offer. Hope you will get in too!
  12. I just received an email from ELAC saying that I've been accepted and they are now working on the start date for us. However, I'm not sure if I'm accepted for 2017 or 2018-_-
  13. I just received an invite for the TEAS like two hours ago:wideyed:
  14. Hi, I am also interested in applying to Rio Hondo. But is it true that they no longer accept TEAS V? Thanks in advance
  15. I also didn't get anything from Chaffey but I'm not too surprised either because I didn't take math 401. I talked to one of the counselors before and she said a lot of students with very good GPA were turned down just because of this freaking one unit class:(
