CSUDH Entry MEPN Program - Fall 2010 Applicants

i've been following a few threads and i love the excitement and anticipation of those waiting for acceptance letters/phone calls to a particular program and the camaraderie that it creates. i would love to get a thread going to show support and updates for those of us who have/are applying to cal state dominguez hills mepn program for fall 2010. i submitted my portfolio and application on november 30th. i was told that i should expect an interview in january. this is the only program i'm applying to. i know some may say that isn't smart, but i've done alot of research and it is the best/only one that meets all of my needs: prereqs, location, program duration, nclex pass rate and cost. being 30 and already having an expensive master's from usc in a field that i have decided to walk away from in order to follow my heart, i know that this program is the one for me. so i'm stepping out on faith and claiming my spot in the fall 2010 cohort. in my workshop, they said that they only expect to accept 35-40 students for fall. would love for others to share their experience with applying to this program and hopefully many of us will start this journey together are csudh in the fall! good luck to everyone!

Killar and Dorkybutt congratulations!!! Which co-hort were you in and when did you interview? My cohort was the last one in February and I didn't interview until May 5th so I was porbably one of the last, I haven't heard yet....I'm so impatient:uhoh3:

I went to the january workshop and finally interviewed mid-april. Yea I can totally feel your pain of waiting. As far as what's been gathered here on this forum, there doesn't really seem to be a straight answer to anything in regards to this application process. So just wait and hope. Hopefully you'll hear something good!

@Mya2bRN: I have to take patho...do you know which class we have to take? Is it BSN 346-30513 or 30154? I'm looking at the class search right now, and luckily they're still open...gtg hurry and register!

Dorky - the section for MEPN students is BSN 346 - 71 (#30524)! Just make sure JE stamps and signs your registgration app for University Extension (extended education). My process was kind of weird...turn in portfolio in dec but only interviewed recently in mid April. Though it was quite a wait....still need to wait again for the one from admission office.

I think JE only has time to go over so many applicants and he still needs to discusss with other people....so don't worry.

@mya: thanks for the info! I'm gonna drop by the office on Monday to turn in my confirmation paper to JE and register for patho. One more question sorry, do you know if the class is just an online class? We don't have to meet on campus? It doesn't say on the schedule...

Hi guys I just got accpeted today!!! Wohoo, I'm soooo happy:yeah: But I have to take summer school and I can't figure out how to register online. Can anyone help me out please?!!!

Like mya said, you have to go on campus to the Extended Ed. building to get the form, and then have JE sign it. Then you bring it back and they register you. Congrat!

@dorky I believe it is all online. I took mine online and we never met.
