CRNE 7th october

Published

Hello,

I'm new to this site but am finding it really useful! I'm canadian but did my nursing degree in the UK, and I currently practicing in England. I'm due to sit the CRNE on the 7th October and have read some scary posts on its level of difficulty. I have the study guides and will continue to study for the next 8 weeks until I fly over to toronto to sit it. I'm extremely nervous....anybody got any further pointers for me????

I can't wait for my family to start our life in Canada pending me passing this exam (so no pressure Eh!)......and a new job in toronto would be great!!!!!

Good luck to all of those that are sitting it the same day as me!:nurse:

The two members discussing Yorkshire are talking about Yorkshire in the north of England

Has anyone receive the result in Manitoba? The waiting time is killling me. I'm still holding on to positive side and praying. Still keeping my fingers crossed!!!

what about Alberta?

Could you guys check your file on the internet on your college or association's website to see if there is any change on your file?

I think the college might update your file immediately they receive your results which can be right before the colleges send the letters to us.

In Alberta you can access your file on the college website. What about the other provinces? Can you guys do it?:coollook:

My friend in Saskatchewan did already receive her result today (Nov.9) and she passed.

Hi breech and everyone,

Congratulations in passing the exam and best of luck to all of those who are still waiting for the results. :D

I'm new here and I've been reading all the past posts.. I'll be writing the CRNE this feb and am REAAALLLY nervous..

I am an IEN from the Philippines and is registering here in BC. I don't have any working experience yet back home but I've been volunteering here in health care facilities. I don't really know what to expect.. I'm soooo anxious.. :sniff: Anymore tips for the exam? Breech, how did you find the exam as well? Did you take it in Vancouver?

By the way, thanks a lot for the tips regarding the resources... It really helps in knowing what to focus on. :specs:

Thanks yabs!! Yea I did take the CRNE here in Vancouver. The exam was quiet draining at the end of the day. I feel like I have increased intracranial pressure afterwards. Not trying to scare you but that's the reality.

Best of luck!

Thanks for your response breech. :D I see, I haven't received the notification yet but I also chose to take it here. Oh my, I guess preparation really is the key in passing the exam.. (It's just REALLY scary though)

By the way, CRNE is the same all over Canada, isn't it right? Do they do it differently in every province (ex: add province-related issues/topics, standards of practice per province)? I'm just wondering.. would it be helpful for me to read about the Compendium of CNO if I'm a CRNBC registrant? Thanks again..

If you are a CRNBC registrant then focus on CRNBC practice standards and its specific-related issues.

I gather you missed the MANY recommendations to read FAQ: The Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) that states very clearly that that the CRNE is a national exam and every province writes exactly the same exam on exactly the same day. Many of the standards in place in Ontario are also in place in BC and in Alberta and in Manitoba. If you have the Compendium already it won't hurt to look at it.
