Cpne Eligible!!!!!

Published

Hi all I finished all my exams and now I can apply for the CPNE. I am so excited can anyone give me any insight on the application process, which sites did they apply to and how long did it take them to recieve their date? Is there anyone about to apply also?

Thanks.

I applied to St. Joseph Hospital - Syracuse, New York. Once I found out they opened a new location in Chambersburg, PA I called and requested to be changed to that, since I only live about one hour away from there. I received my packet in the mail for Syracuse with a date, so I am staying with that.:D

You applied to just that on particular hospital or to all the hospitals in NPAC? A few hours ago I was on chamersburg hospital website to get more info about the hospital.

If you go to http://www.excelsior.edu/cpneapplication and click on "required documentation," you can check that page and make sure you have all your stuff together to apply when you're declared eligible (that'll be when EC updates your status/eval summary). You can also call EC and request that they go ahead and send your study guide CD now, instead of waiting until they update you.

Congrats! :)

Thanks, Excelsior updated the information the same for me when I called. I have all the requred documents. I was really trying to feel out where did everyone apply to and how long did they wait to get their date.

Thanks again.

I think The NPAC is probably the least wait for a test date. I called them the other day and they said it would take about four months to get a test date letter. Then I should be able to test like 2 months after I received the letter, but I am going to try to get a cancelation date.

Oooh, that was nice of them! LOL!! I had to wait 2 weeks for them to get me updated. It was right around the time that the new curriculum started, and I think they were still trying to catch up with all the newly enrolled people.

I applied to MPAC (to the Mansfield site, because I can drive there) on November 6, 2007. All my docs were accepted that same day. I received my date on April 4, 2008, and my CPNE is June 13-June 15. I probably could have gotten a cancellation date in May, but I'm taking a workshop at the end of May, so that wouldn't work for me. :)

Like boyle80 said, the NPAC (NY sites and new PA site) seems to have the shortest wait time/date assignment time, while the SPAC (Georgia sites) has a very looooong wait. MPAC is somewhere in the middle. :)

I just passed my CPNE in Wisconsin. I waited almost 6 months between when I put in application to test date. I would not concern myself with pass/fail ratios. From what I understand, all are equal. Focus on getting as much practice as you can in the meantime. Relaxation techniques will probably help you alot too. I was not prepared for how stressful and nervous the CPNE was. I was ok and focused till I got there. Focus also on the positives moreso than negatives. Don't focus on who failed, listen to who passed and why. Most of all have faith in yourself and your abilities. You got this far did'nt you? Just keep a positive outlook. Soon you'll be a :nurse:.:nuke:

Well done!

I completed the application 12/22 and got my date three ? weeks ago.

I'm near Albany so it is a bit quicker.

Congrats!!! I m just trying to get geared to take NC1, what did you use to study for these exams... I have the minnay studyguide (I hope this enough to pass), are the Ec exams really worth the $$$?

I've never heard of Minney. I used study guides from Excelsior for all Nursing Concepts. I used the resources they listed in the study guides too. I also have some incredible RNs at work who have been great mentors for me. Be wary of spending extra money where you may not need to. However, if you need a more detailed study guideline then purchase from Minnay or Studygroup101 or other sites. Use the internet to find resources. I believe someone had listed on another thread a couple of other study sites. For me personally, I did spend the extra $$$ on the practice tests for NC1 and NC2. For me worth it.:wink2:
