Published

Hi friends,

Tonight I jsut submitted my application for the CPNE, I am so happy and nervous!!!

I submitted all the electronic documents but there was a little problem. The Criminal background file is .pdf and the EC site does not accept the .pdf file, how did you all do this??? Can EC access this report directly without me having to submit it??? Please advise,

Good evening all. I wanted to share the email that I received from Excelsior today:

"NPAC staff would like to make you aware that they have received approval from some of their sites to have mid -week clinical times which will allow them to schedule CPNE exams on Wednesday- Friday in addition to Friday - Sunday periods. They will be booking these dates as they confirm faculty availabilty for them. Please contact Evelyn Davis (NPAC scheduler ) if you would like to be considered for these mid weeks dates.

NPAC would like to provide an update on their newest sites:

York Hospital: their newest site in York, Pa. They will be testing at York Hospital once a month, starting with the April 24-26, 2009 weekend.

New York Hospital Queens: this site opened in January 2009 and is running twice a month, increasing to three times a month in July 2009.

Saratoga Hospital: this site in Saratoga Springs, New York is scheduled to open in June 2009, faculty are currently being recruited and trained for this location.

Test dates will be available when faculty are scheduled"

So for all of us waiting for our dates at the NPAC, study, study, study!!!

I passed my CPNE!!! York was a great site, very friendly hospital staff. Flew into Harrisburg and drove the 30 minutes to York. I have to say the many posts here and around the net were a big help. Definately worth the money to get the video from Excelsior. I had never seen wound packing done that way, but it was the technique that the instructors were wanting. The steps on the video for the labs were EXACTLY how the instructors wanted them performed.

Waiting for my graduation date so that I can send my Transcripts to the Florida Board of Nursing to take my Boards. It was expensive, and stressful, but the best way to work full time and go from LPN to RN.

:ancong!::hpygrp::anpom::anpom:I passed just last week in Utica! Isn't it such a great feeling to be done! Now on to Boards!! Good Luck :D

Congrats! Now you can finally relax! :tbsk: So you've found Excelsior's CPNE video helpful? I didn't think the video went through the steps, from what I've heard, the video only gave a broad orientation to the actual CPNE. Did you also find the Interactive Workbook helpful?

I received my RN License today in the mail!!! What a stressful few months. To respond to the question regarding the EC video for CPNE, yes, it helped. Pay special attention to the labs, especially for wound packing. I have never, in my 18 years, packed a wound like that, but it is what the instructors want and expect!

I could not get an authorization to test from the State of Florida until they received my transcripts dated on or after my graduation date! They authed me to take my boards on 07/25/09 and I took my Boards on 08/08/09. I was convinced that I had failed the NCLEX as it shut off after 75 questions, which were almost all Peds (my greatest weaness!)

The format of the EC exams really helped for the NCLEX format as they were worded similarly. Also, I purchased the Kaplan NCLEX study guide and it was a great help.

I will pay closer attn to this string, if anyone has any questions regarding EC or CPNE, I will be happy to do all that I can.

How long did it take you to prepare for your test (CPNE)? What resources did you use?

Utilized the CPNE video from Excelsior. Great help! Shows exactly how the instructors want you to perform in lab and clinicals. Also, David's CPNEX blogspot on the web. All of his video blogs were great! and free! Also read thru other people's experiences here, what worked, what didn't.

Just a point of clarification -- Redden created and owns the cpnex.blogspot.com site, not David. David did write a helpful study guide that is linked there, though.

Thank you for the clarification, I did not know that!
