COVID-19: NCLEX Changed!!

Nurses COVID

Published

Have you guys seen the new update for the NCLEX exam?

What are your thoughts?

I see it a lot harder to prove that you’re competent. I don’t want to be a downer but doesn’t that mean with less questions you’ll need a greater percentage of correct questions to satisfy the competency level?

But again 4 hrs for a max of 130 questions is quite a lot of time to prove competency. Also

I also feel like they changed the standards. They just won’t straight out say that cause people gonna be going cray cray. We bout to see everybody with a license soon. But I pray it’s for the best.

I find out "unofficially" tomorrow but the Pearson Vue trick worked for me! Overall, it was not too bad.

Did you pass? I just took mine yesterday.

In Washington State they have suspended testing altogether. They are supposed to announce what the plans are April 16th. Unfortunately, I fell into that group ? No testing for me.

Sorry to hear that...I’m testing in the next 2 months.

I actually was one of the lucky ones to tale my NCLEX a few days ago. Overall, the level of anxiety is high. When it cuts off at 60, I was stunned and shaking.

They took out the 15 experiment questions for next gen NCLEX.

Hi and congratulations!! I’m taking the NCLEX in about two months and I just started studying hardcore. Did you see a lot of the same topics? Any weird things that you remember that were asked? Any info is appreciated ?

Hey guys, I just read an update that they closed all testing centers again until May 1. Currently waiting on my ATT and planned to take it in the beginning of May sometime but now who knows! This is so frustrating and hard to make a study plan with no idea of when I can sit for it ??

Can I ask where you found this information? I wasn't seeing any new announcements on testing procedures at either Person Vue's or the NCSBN website's.

and scroll down to United States. I usually get updates from them and I had to go searching for this one after someone else in my class told me, so that’s confusing to me.

They sure kind of buried that update didn't they? I wonder how many candidates will be unpleasantly surprised when they try to schedule an exam? Well I am truly sorry for everybody waiting to test.

Ya I thought so too, it was weird compared to other updates that were posted everywhere. I don’t have my ATT yet so it’ll be interesting to see what dates/locations are even an option by then ??‍♀️

Yiiiiikes. I remember having wicked high levels of anxiety about taking the NCLEX and now seeing people's testing dates getting pushed and testing centers being closed? I'd say y'all deserve a shorter/easier NCLEX just for the pure stress you are being put through! You've worked so hard to get through nursing school just for this final hurdle to be in a state of flux ?

Right! It’s so hard to make a study plan when things change every day ?

I've never been a big fan of the test prep companies since there are so many free options for test prep out there. But... considering all the uncertainty surrounding testing now maybe paying for test prep that guarantees passing or they will pay for the retest might be a good investment. Studying for the NCLEX is trying enough under normal circumstances and this is certainly not normal!

Agreed! After doing some research I purchase UWorld and I’ve been working through the Q Bank, it’s great so far. It’s just tough to study with no test date in mind ?
