Okay, so this has the potential to sound very strange. I have noticed that at work the past couple months when a co-worker slips their mask down for a moment to take a drink, eat, readjust the mask, etc. That from the nose they just look strange almost deformed and it seems to be with all of them even the folks I knew before the pandemic their faces just look off.
I figures it's just becoming so ingrained to see the masks that seeing a full face is disarming. Is anyone else experiencing this? I really hope someone is that I'm not having a COVID psychotic break
I started a new job a few months ago. Some of my colleagues I am learning their faces because we have Zoom meetings... But, many of the other staff I work with are all scrub caps and masks.. the "identifying" features are how they fit in scrubs, their eyes, glasses(?) and visible hair... I'm having a hard time learning new people.

I seriously doubt it. I'm pretty sure they are here to stay. I believe the germaphobe takeover is complete.
I think once most are vaccinated and we don't have 2.4 million people worldwide dying in a year they'll go away. I don't know when that will be though. And I actually plan on wearing mine for awhile anyway, cuz I've read to many stories about people not quarantining when they should, going to work sick and testing positive etc

I'm only wearing surgical masks, I've decided, I just can't tolerate any more than that. This mask thing is pushing me towards an earlier retirement then I had planned. I look forward to contributing to the nursing shortage.
I have been tested twice, and as far as I know I haven't had covid. I'm not really afraid of covid for myself, but I'm mostly doing my part to help out with the situation for the unhealthy people.
I think that the Swedish approach is the best and most sensible approach. I am so sick of the overbearing, neurotic governor of my state. I don't mind staying away from other people because I'm not a real sociable person. But, I have had it with this whole thing.
You mean this approach? This Sweden? Wow, yeah, maybe you do need to retire.
I always remember Wilson from Home Improvement. We only ever saw the top of his face on the show and you always wondered what he looked like in person.
I've had a few coworkers start in the unit since last March and a couple I've seen in pictures on facebook and I realized I wouldn't have even recognized them without their masks!

Wuzzie - that Twilight Zone episode is one of my favs. Scared the h*ll out of me as a kid when I first saw it. TY for the flashback.
My face has been 'over-masked' for a while. I wear a full-face mask for my nitely bi-pap machine. And use a chin strap too.
