Cook Childrens 2014 Residency

Hello,

I have started the application process for the Jan 2014 cohort at Cook Childrens. Does anyone who has interviewed or been accepted for prior cohorts have any advice for the essay that is required or interview? I have completed the whole application but get stuck when writing the essay!! So much to say in it but I can't seem to get started.

Aw you guys are sweet :)

No, I didn't get a call either. But, I did get another offer to a facility in Dallas. I start orientation this week and start the unit next week. I was a little bummed because I really liked Cook's, but it just wasn't in the cards for me out of nursing school. But who's to say I won't end up there eventually? :) good luck to y'all wherever you end up!

Is anybody else looking it Children's Medical Center in Dallas? If I don't get the residency at Cook that is where I want to go, but they are waiting until the last minute to post applications it seems... Frustrating because I want to know I'll have a job come January!

Yes, I have actually emailed them and they said they won't know how many positions they will be able to have due to budget cuts, that's why they won't post it until closer to the date.

Good to know! I had email them and all I got was "we will be posting positions closer to that time". :/

Well its Wednesday already...does anybody know if anyone else got called yesterday??

It's only Wednesday.. I'm not going to lose hope until I get the rejection email or Friday passes..

I haven't heard anything... I wonder what their process is.. Call the strongest applicants on Monday, then look over a few applicants each day? Do they usually only make calls later in the day?
