I applied to UTEP PNP program and the deadlines look like they were pushed back further? The deadline for PNP PC is May 15. Does anyone know why the deadlines have been changed? I found conflicting information all over the website. One page says deadline was in March.. The other says May15. Has anyone interviewed yet? Any pointers? I'm concerned I may have submitted my application too late with all of the conflicting information.

The fall program starts in August and I have received admission to another program in July but UTEP is my top choice and I'd like to know if Ill have a decision from them prior to the start of the other program. That's right. The resident that gave me my tour said you get an interview based off of the total number of points you score from essay, gpa, etc. Once you get an interview those things don't matter and you just get picked based off of your interview and points earned from your answers. I have no idea if all of that is accurate but that is what the resident told me during my tour.

I interviewed today at 3 pm and there was someone else who interviewed at 4. My interview was great but I am still not sure if I did well enough to get a spot. I was told they interviewed 75 and will take between 15-25 depending on staffing needs. Also, I was told that they select based off of a point system.. you get so many points for how you answered your questions and scenario and they take the top scores.. that's what I was told on my tour. The people who interviewed me were great and really encouraging. My tour guide also said that she started in the June cohort and was notified on Tuesday or Wednesday of the notification week.. so hopefully its early but I have also heard of people having to wait till Friday!! My friend received a call on Tuesday. I was called this morning. I have an interview next Friday. They said they were making calls from the 8th-11th.

I don't think notices are going out until next week but I am not sure. Good luck to everyone :)

Did anyone interview for the NICU or did they not have this open for the fall? I applied for Feb 2014.

Hello, I have started the application process for the Jan 2014 cohort at Cook Childrens. Does anyone who has interviewed or been accepted for prior cohorts have any advice for the essay that is required or interview? I have completed the whole application but get stuck when writing the essay!! So much to say in it but I can't seem to get started. Thanks!

RedRaiderStudent- The official acceptance letter does not contain orientation dates.. it just states that orientation will be in July. They told me that they will send another email when they have the exact dates for orientation so we will just have to wait!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we do not register for classes until orientation. I wasn't sure if that had already been clarified or not. Once they get set orientation dates we will receive another email that tells us all of the things we need to have completed before orientation (tb test, BLS, immunizations, etc). So basically we are just waiting for another email and we will register for classes at orientation in July.

Raider601- I wouldn't think that they would start accepting off of the wait list until everyone declined or accepted their official offer.

sml0432- not sure if you read my post from earlier today. I received my offer today around 2pm and the email said I had until 4pm on April 12 to accept the offer. So approx a week.
