I find myself craving certain meals after an exceptionally long/stressful shift. None of it is ever healthy!! Tonight was one of those nights. It got me thinking... what comfort food do you crave after a difficult shift?

I'll go first.

I LOVE anything with syrup-- pancakes (especially with chocolate chips!!), waffles, and french toast. That syrup melts away all the stress of the day! My other big-time comfort meal is bacon, eggs, and fried tomatoes. I'm not quite sure why it's all breakfast food...

Baileys in my coffee, homemade egg mcmuffin, or nachos....

It used to be 2-3 sixpacks of really cold beer. But since I started going to AA, it is Eggos smeared with peanut butter and blackberry jelly and a big can of V-8

Since I have yet to get my AA card, it is 2-3 glasses of wine and mac-n-cheese, or cheese and crackers. Yumn, ready for it now!

Sharing a box of wine with my other ICU ladies, and hashbrown casserole from Cracker Barrel.

Ahhh I love wine mornings with the crew. Have a friend and we play runescape together in the morning with a cold one after work.

Every once in awhile I get a Frosty and fries from Wendy's, and then eat the frosty with the french fries. So good.

ice cream with chicharon toppings

Einstein's Nova Lox Bagel, no onions and a hot chocolate. (However Einstein's recently changed their salmon from something heavenly to something that tastes like it came from a grocery store).

I used to love Einsteins after a hard night shift too. They had a spinach and cheese omlet on whole wheat bagel that was too die for!

Bagel bites and a wine spritzer

Pasta with tomato sauce or perhaps pizza...

Gotta crunch on something. Peanuts, usually with hummus, crackers and cheese. Then I don't want to go to bed on a full stomach so I end up on allnurses and fall asleep in front of the computer!

Wine or bud light...whichever we have and peanut butter toast...lol.
