Hello,

I am a december grad!!!!!! I am nopt sure when I will be able to take the NCLEX, but I am anticipating it being febuary or march. I know there are more of us out there so I figured I would start a thread for us. i noticed the nov. dec, jan, threads seem so supporyive and helpful.

I am planning on taking a review course with the state board of nursing, kaplan, and doing questions. I havnt decided if I will work as a GN while I am studying or not. so... what is everyone else doing???

thats around the time i am hoping to test. i would have liked to taken it earlier, but my school makes us take a review before the will send off our paperwork. are you doing any kind of review? best of luck to you

I will be doing Suzanne's. actually, I'm in the middle of it right now. how about you and Good Luck as well

i hear suzannes plan is great! i wish i could do just that but my school requires us to take a formal review class.

i have a question for all.... as i have mentioned before, my school will not send off our paperwork to BON until our review class is complete. i am registered for Kaplan which runs Jan7-23. i am worried that taking kaplan so late, i will end up not being able to take boards until march or something. i was thinking of registereing for rnquiz.com its only $50 and is a review with a money back gurantee. they also offer a certificate of completion which i will need to be approved by my school to take boards. what do you all think of the idea of doing rnquiz, so that i can have my paperwork processed faster, and hopefully have a test date for late january or early febuary. i will still do kaplan, because i already paid for it.

just wondering where all the feb test takers are hiding.

update on me, i am ing kaplan and have bee using their qbank and question trainer. my scores arent that great and I am a little worried. I have been scoring only in the low 60s

I graduated in December and haven't received my ATT yet. I had hoped to test in January, but it's unlikely.

I've been studying everyday for the NCLEX. I use the Rinehart review and also attended their seminar, I use Kaplans Nclex strategy book and have been using a Saunders CD for about 200 test questions per day, by category.

But I'm still nervous so today I bought the Saunders book and will try to do Suzannes plan because I want to pass the first time!

It's maddening how they tell you to test within a few weeks out of school, and I graduated December 13th and still haven't received my ATT!

eldragon- yeah it stinks having to wait. my school wont even submit our paperwork until Jan 15 and after we finish a review course. i took my last final 12/13!!! I hate having to wait. I will be finished all of my schools requirements on 1/22 and hope and pray that this will be enough time for me to test in Feb. I have a position waiting for me and becasue of my school, i have to keep pushing my start date back

I graduated in dec also. I am also waiting for my letter to test. I want to look for a job but dont know if I would be hired since I havent tested yet. I am not sure how it all works. I know I need to study but I need a job also. I hate being broke. But I am afraid that since I have no experience that it will be hard to find a job. I want to work in a clinic or dr office. ????????????

smak60- you can look and apply for jobs without having tested yet.

smak60- sure! i would have wrote a more detailed response but my 8month old was in my arms at the time. feel free to ask anything here. everyone here is so helpful:)

:specs: Thanks!! Like I said this is all new to me. And since I finished school on Dec 14 and with the holidays finally over, I am trying to get back into study mode. And as for looking for a job, I dont know if I should take a cover letter with me if I was to just stop at a dr office or clinic. I dont see many job ads so I thought I would just drop by certain places and give them my resume. But I am not sure what to do????????? I had worked at a job for 11 1/2 years (nothing to do with nursing) and then our company was bought out, then they shut us down. so I went back to school.....completed that....and now here I am ......waiting to test and find a job....:specs:

smak60- its pretty common to apply for jobs online, at least where I live. I would search online for jobs, attend job fairs, and call around. i would fear that my resume wouldnt get into the right hands just dropping it off.
