Columbia ETP 2015

Published

Has anyone started a thread yet? The application is due in 174 days and as you can see I'm already obsessing.

Anyone else?!

Hi themickk

Im currently a Junior looking to apply to The program next Fall, specializing in anesthesia. I'm slightly worried because my organic chem grade isn't that competitive and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your GPA/GRE score?

Decisions are up! I was accepted into the ETP program, but not my specialty of choice (anesthesia)...the letter said to reapply for another specialty! So I'm thinking Adult Acute Care!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I'm kinda late to the game but I wanted to share their response to my Hep B vaccine concerns- as long as you have the first 2 by the April 27 deadline, you're fine!

What are the costs of each of the housing options, abbyf? Do you know? Also, Bard does not have a kitchen?

See website below for rates.

There is a shared kitchen on the 11th floor. I am too lazy to get up there to cook tho. I bought a hot plate and cook in my room (even we are not supposed to).

How is housing managed? Is it very similar to undergraduate dorms - by that I mean, do you have overbearing RAs peeking in your room? How far do you have to go to get any groceries?

Did they say they were gonna get the financial aid packages out before visiting day?

They did! Let's hope!

Just got an email from financial aid that packages will start going out the 2nd week of March. We will receive an email when they're released.

You are all amazing, this information is so helpful, Thank you. I am coming out from Oakland with my partner for the new student day. My plan is to rent a 2 or 3 bedroom in Washington Heights in late April early May and find a couple of roommates. Im planning on setting up about a half dozen appointments to check out apartments the day after the orientation. Anyone that is interested in checking out what Washington heights apts and neighborhoods look like feel free to tag along. Im hoping to keep my portion of rent under $1000 hopefully closer to $800 but to be honest with the cost of the program a few thousand more, over the length of the program, to have a cool, cozy spot near campus would be worth it for me. One of my closest friends did this program a few years ago and strongly recommended Washington heights not only because of the proximity and price, but really enjoyed the neighborhood. I get a lot from studying with others so i hope to land housing with a few more ETP's going through the same insanity as me. Hit me up if any of you are interested [email protected]

Congrats again!!!!

I emailed you!

Does anyone know if the Columbia student housing is month to month, or do we have to sign a ~1 year lease?

I got into Yale and I will be accepting, so good news to someone on the midwifery wait list! Good luck everyone!

I did not get into Yale so now I'm really doubling down on my pro/con list between Columbia and MGH. I'm dying for the financial aid info so I can assess it better.

Anyone else still unsure of Columbia?
