Hi,

I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.

I think everyone should keep posting just so there is something new to read as we are all obsessively checking constantly :) Also, if by chance we get in.. is everyone planning to go to visiting weekend? pretty short notice for buying a flight and getting off work- I assume it is worthwhile?

YES. if/when we all get in, that is DEF reason enough to splurge!!!!!!!

If I get in I plan on eatting a gigantic cinnabon from the mall....(a whole day's worth of calories) but I wont care about anything at that point.....

Well I guess I might do that even if I don't get in...to eat away my sorrorws

I am also wondering about working as an RN during the masters portion. I read somewhere that some of the masters programs want you to work, while others won't let you or at least frown upon it. I am wondering if anyone knows if you can/should work during midwifery masters?

I wasn't even waitlisted. Just flat denied. Well I guess on the bright side I graduate with my MPH in 13 weeks and already have a job offer on the table. Still really disappointing though.
