Colorado - Illegal Immigrants no longer eligble for state health care

I wish that I could do something illegal and be rewarded for it. Naw I would just end up in jail. I say send them back. Fine and jail employers for hiring them. If they have a kid in this country give them a choice kid goes with them or stays with someone who is here legally. Sorry, I'm out on compassion today.

There are endless references out there to support birthright citizenship as a constitutional right both within the text of the constitutional amendment AND as a result of each time congress has restated naturalization and citizenship laws. (Every time congress has restated that within a statute it has in effect reaffirmed birthright citizenship.)

I am aware of the law. Because congress deams it a constitutional right doesn't mean that I have to agree. And I don't. That's my constitutional right.

You can try to porifice that the American public WANTS illegal aliens here, but it's just not true. There is widespread support for closing our borders and rolling up the welcome mat. In fact, the concept has widespread, BIPARTISAN support.

Only the extremes of both parties want to keep the borders open.

The progressive, blame America first crowd believes that the accumulation of wealth is a sin and wants open borders because as a rich nation, America is guilty of the Capital crime of being hugely successful as a nation. That wealth must be redistributed and illegal aliens are as good an agenda as any to advance said redistribution.

Then there are extreme left wing politicians that believe that illegal aliens, once granted amnesty, will translate into legal, left wing voters. That's poor logic, however, because 2nd gen Americans tend to be more conservative. Much more.

The other extreme, on the right, just wants its slave labor, no matter the cost.

Those extremes exists outside the mainstream of public opinion.

The current CIR has widespread support for the tougher border enforcement provisions but is in danger of not passing BECAUSE Congress is afraid of the public reaction to the amnesty provisions. They should be.

Most Americans understand that the thing that separates us from most other nations is our fundamental belief, as a people, in the concept of the rule of law. The law is greater than any man. We have founded our Republic on this concept. Inviting illegal aliens to come over with all the benefits currently being dangled defies the rule of law.

Most Americans disagree with undermining the rule of law that defines us a nation. We are pro-immigrant as a nation. We are also pro-fairness. It's not fair to allow some to subvert the system.

I just don't understand how someone that believes so much in "fairness" could tolerate or support a concept of some people taking unfair advantage over others.

See here's the thing about that 'jobs Americans won't do' concept. There is NO job that Americans won't do. There are just jobs that Americans won't do for 3 bucks an hour. Stop undermining the lower rung of our workforce with 3 buck/hr labor, and you wouldn't need a minimum wage. Those jobs would go to Americans at a much higher rate of pay. The result: a 'redistribution' of income earning ability more in-line to where it should be.

Those that support illegal immigration support the concept of corporate profits over the little guy. How could a h.s. grad possibly support a family when his salary is constantly being undercut by someone that will take less than half pay for the same work?

I may not always agree with you, but this time I am behind your point of view 100%! We do not need any more illegal immigrants in this country, and I am in full support of revoking the concept of "birthright citizenship" I think that this ill-thought out law, has been the biggest factor in the illegal immigrant mess this country now finds itself in. There is too many loopholes to this law, and they are taken advantage of 100% by illegal aliens.

We need to pressure our elected officials to work on revoking "birthright citizenship", deny any and all social services includng welfare and foodstamps, deny illegal immigrant children admission to all of our public schools, ancluding emementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and colleges. Especially deny illegal immigrant children admission to our state colleges and iniversities as "state residents" for lower tuition.

We need to severly punish emplolyers who hire illegal immigrants, and circumvent out labor and wage laws. You are right- there are no jobs that Ameeican won't do. Only jobs that American won't do fo $3 an hour.

Illegal immigrants are weakening this country by undercutting jobs and leaving American workers jobless. They use more social services than they pay in taxes, and take full advantage of our health care, without paying the taxes to help pay for them. I would fully support starting to send the health and social services bill to the new president of Mexico, and let them pay for their own citizens for a change. JMHO, and my NY $0.02.

Over 60 hospitals have had to close in California since 1999 because they are not getting paid for the care given to illegals. Illegals cost us over 12 billion dollars a year in health care. Healthcare workers were out of jobs.

We can not support the world. If we keep our borders open we will become a third world country. These people need to return home and fight their own fight instead of taking the easy way out.

Don't think for a minute that they do jobs that American's don't want. It's not true. It's just that Americans won't do it for less than minimum wage because we have to pay taxes, health ins, and don't split our rent with 70 other people living in the house. Don't laugh, here in Miami a 2 bedroom house was just busted for drugs and they found 70 illegal alliens living in it!

The public probably does have a favorable view of immigrants....It says immigrants "not" illegal immigrants.

LEGAL immigration is a good thing for this country. Profesional people whose knowledge and skills are needed here are allowed to legally immigrate and do contribute to our economy in a healthy way and are able to feed their families are have health care benefits provided to them through their jobs. They are not holding out their hands.

I think it's unbelieveably criminal to sneak into our country illegally and expect to be entitled to the same priviledges that we enjoy because of the millions of Americans's who died to preserve our freedom.

There are an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country. There's no way we are going to be able to send them all home but is imperative that we stop making life so easy for them while they're here.
