Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.
C'mon now!
Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.
C'mon now!
The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.
All together: C'mon now!!
Some things just make me shake my head.

I mean...... Thank you?
You should start quizzing these teachers students when they come in. Give them spelling words or simple math. Then when they don't know the answers send a "just want you to know" email" ;)
So, my bad, the kid ended up with a fever 2 hours later. BUT. When the teacher came down, I told her that he was fine when I saw him, his only complaint was a headache, and that if he needed to not be in the classroom, send him down to rest in my office, and she ended the conversation with "No, I just wanted you to know."
Today, she confronted me saying that she felt she hadn't been "heard" because she knows him better than I do as she has had him in her class for over 100days and she is like another parent to him. Ok. What do you want me to do, come pick up the 80lb child and carry him to my office? If you're truly concerned, just send him with a note, or walk him down yourself!! Also, I really don't think his ACTUAL PARENTS would like her comparing herself to them.
I think what irks me the most is that since he ended up getting picked up, I'm the one who stayed an hour late after school so that he didn't have to suffer in after-school care while dad rushed to get here. AND I'm the one who arranged for alternative transportation for his friend who was supposed to go to his house after school.
GRRR. Sorry for the vent.

Sounds like a job for someone who describes themselves as his other parent.

Sounds like a dramatic teacher. I wonder if she realizes your job is to ensure the health and safety of student body...not to make teachers feel warm and fuzzy and special.
