30+ club! Lets do this together.

I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!

I'm so excited to find a group of older students like myself. I am 41, live in Ky., married for 18 years, and have 3 children (one of which just graduated from UK). I have been an LPN for 20 years and just returned to school in the fall of 2011. I just finished the last of my prereqs for ASN. I can bridge at my school or skip the first semester of the traditional program (which is what I chose) and I just received my acceptance letter for the program. I only like 1 class toward an AS so I thought in the fall since I can skip the first semester that I would take that class (a cultural study) along with a statistics class required for ADN-BSN at EKU. My plans are hopefully to transfer there after completing my 3 semesters for my ASN. It seems as though it's been a long road already but it's been worth it even at this point. I can't wait to start the program and it's great to have found a group of like-minded people to share struggles and successes with.

Glad to see someone else from KY on here. I will begin my program this fall at a KCTCS school, with hope of transferring to Morehead. Best of luck with your studies!

I'm also going to KCTCS but I don't have to start till the 2nd semester in January. So I guess we will be in class together maybe. Somerset?

Hazard/Lees Campus. Hazard is apparently under review for some reason, so they aren't having a class right there. It sounds like we will be at the same pace, though.

I'm the old bird in the group! Lol I'm a 42 yo mom. I attended college before but didn't complete my degree in business. I've now taken AP1 & 2 and Micro. I'm studying to take the NLN this Summer & apply for Nursing school in October. I was really concerned about my GPA because of my prior education attempt. My grades just posted & I realized I'm not quite as bad as I thought. My transfer GPA & current combined are 3.0. I work full-time & took 13 hours this Semester. Surprisingly, I did best this semester than I did any other term. Let's pray that this is a sign that I focus better when I'm spread thin. I hear nursing school does just that!

41years young here! Starting nursing prerequisites in the fall! Two babies 20 and 14 lol! Probably end up in college with the both of them. Advise or encouragement would be greatly appreciated! Very nervous! Have been an LPN for 10 years have not been back to school since. Hoping to go all the way to my BSN. Looking at Florida SSC or VCC concurrent programs. I have a long haul ahead of me but with the grace and mercy of God, here I goooooo!

My kids are 20 & 14 as well. My 20 year old is in nursing school as well.

My grandmother was a RN for 25 years before retiring. She didn't start school until after I was a child and I was my mother's 3rd.. Her story has been a great motivator for me :)

I am 32, and I am not native speaker. This road will be very tough for me .

Hey all! 31 year old here and I just turned my application in last week. I've been in the Navy for the last 12 years working on computers, this is the farthest thing away from that and I'm nervous as hell. Super excited though! Waiting for the next 6 weeks is going to be nerve wracking.

You'll be fine. I know is harder for us, (the non native English speakers) but it will be even more rewarding and satisfying when we meet our goal too! I'm 43. We can do it!
