Congrats to all those that are accepted and will be the class of 2015. I thought it would be nice to have our own thread where we can support each other along our journey. Mine is an ADN program, but I know some will be BSN as well.
With all that aside has anyone had their nursing orientation yet? How was it? What are some of the costs you have to dish out? Did it finally sink in that you will be starting nursing school soon?
Mine isn't until May 29th 9a-3p. I do know that our tops will be white and our bottoms will be green. I also know we are required to have an iPad which is included in our financial aid. I also know I have to pay $66.00 just for the drug test. The program pays for our in state CORI/SORI but I had to pay for my out of state one which was $31.00. I just payed for that today. We will be required to buy the books, stethoscope, name pin, uniforms, warm up jacket, lab coat, and more. So exciting. We will also schedule our classes on orientation day.
Lets get to know each other so we can support each other :)
Hello Everyone! I see that it has been a while since people have commented on this post but I just recently received my acceptance into nursing school! I will be receiving my BSN! I'm so excited! The program I am in is a 2+3 program meaning that we do 2 years of pre-requisites and 3 years of clinical. I cried tears of joy after receiving my letter in the mail formally inviting me to join the class. I'm ecstatic, nervous and relieved all at the same time. I'm pretty sure that relief will go away once I actually start nursing school in August.
So far I have gotten my CPR Certification, mental and criminal background checks, and in the process of getting my TB Test results sent off. Apparently I tested positive for the TB test and will have to do some blood work to make sure I don't actually have it. *sigh*, but they said everything should be fine. They said could mean that my skin had an allergic reaction to the test because every time I have been tested I get a little redness on my skin.
Once, I get all this stuff done I can finally REGISTER! My school is offering Pathophysiology online this upcoming semester, but I have been advised by almost every seasoned nursing student to take the lecture class because its going to be one of our hardest classes!! YIKES! Nervous much? I'm looking forward to reading everyones joys and struggles at we go through this journey together!
Hey! I just got accepted into a BSN program for fall 2013.I Am so excited I read my acceptance letter like 20 times lol. My orientation isn't until August. During orientation we will be given a dosage calculation class, and then tested on it. We get two attempts to get at least 95%, inorder to begin clinicals. I am just so excited!!! Congrats to everyone who made it. The hard part now begins! Game faces on!!
Haha I read mine like 50 million times as well! Good luck to you!
Just got my physical done today. All I have left is the background check. My printer is currently out of ink, so I have no way to print it out at home. I'm going to go over to the school tomorrow and print it out in the computer lab and then run all of my paperwork over to the Nursing school office, so I'll be completely done with all the administrative steps.
Registration for fall is on Tuesday! Can't wait to sign up for my 1st "real" nursing class and proudly wear my scrubs on our first day
