Class of 2015

Published

Congrats to all those that are accepted and will be the class of 2015. I thought it would be nice to have our own thread where we can support each other along our journey. Mine is an ADN program, but I know some will be BSN as well.

With all that aside has anyone had their nursing orientation yet? How was it? What are some of the costs you have to dish out? Did it finally sink in that you will be starting nursing school soon?

Mine isn't until May 29th 9a-3p. I do know that our tops will be white and our bottoms will be green. I also know we are required to have an iPad which is included in our financial aid. I also know I have to pay $66.00 just for the drug test. The program pays for our in state CORI/SORI but I had to pay for my out of state one which was $31.00. I just payed for that today. We will be required to buy the books, stethoscope, name pin, uniforms, warm up jacket, lab coat, and more. So exciting. We will also schedule our classes on orientation day.

Lets get to know each other so we can support each other :)

Congratulations!!! Still waiting.....:-/

I am also starting an ASN program in August and will be graduating class of 2015. Orientation is the 15th of August and classes start the 19th of August. I am a wife and mom of 3 kids ages 15, 12 and 7 and also work full time (3-12hour shifts in an ER). I am so excited to be finally starting clinicals and can't wait to share this journey with you all!

Congrats to everyone starting their program in the fall and being part of the class of 2015! I start my BSN program at the end of August! We can get through this!

I joined SNA at my school a couple weeks ago and got my membership card today. Along with it I got a coupon code for $20 off a purchase of $50 or more on allheart.com!

I will be joining the SNA at my school as well. Did you get all the info on SNA at your orientation? We still have no idea when our orientation is! To say I am anxious is an understatement.

I am trying to decide if SNA is worth joining...

Sending you positive thoughts!!! :)

I think that any nursing organizations you are in look nice on your resume, especially if you take a leadership role.

I'm working full time this summer, currently also taking a CRMA class to pass meds at work (I work in a group home) as well as taking pharmacology. Our first test was 3 weeks ago and it was fine, it was tough but I did well. I was feeling really good about everything. Um, not so much anymore! I have another exam this week and I'm SO OVERWHELMED! I'm really glad I decided to take this class over the summer when at least I don't have tons of other school work to do, but man! There is a LOT to learn!

Still very excited that we are officially beginning our journey... and again, congrats to everyone!!

Does anyone know which tablet/laptop would be best for the program (I will be purchasing a combo package- ebook/textbook)??

Congratulations!!! Still waiting.....:-/

I'm waiting too, I should know something in a couple of weeks!
