for those of us who just got accepted to nursing school and have to wait 2 freaking years to start ...check in here!!
personally, i will have things to do next year though. i have to go through the nursing asst. program first (spring '07). then, we're allowed to take pharmacology and dosage calculations one semester before we start actual nursing school.
of course, there's all those immunizations to look forward to also!

future rn in 2010:nurse:
Hello everyone. I'm starting an adn program in SE virginia in the fall. Very excited. It's been a long time getting to this point. Been an LPN for 13 years, finished all my pre recs, found a part time job where I'll get a truck load of experience while going to school. hope this is as good as I'm making it out to be.
Me too! Starting the clinical part of nursing in August 2008 and hopefully graduating in December 2010, just finished all the pre-reqs. In our school, we don't have to take any tests, only had to apply on the last semester of prereqs and GPA is the only standard we have to pass. Not sure how high the GPA this time but for the Spring 08 students it was somewhere around 3.54. We had an orientation after everybody got their acceptance letters, mainly to tell us what papers to fill, tests/procedures to be done, fingerprints and such. There's supposed to be another orientation right before classes start in August.
Good luck to Class 2010.
I am so excited to start my nursing program in the Fall of 08. I have already completed all my coursework for my program while waiting on the list to begin my clinicals. I hope and pray this will help with my success during my labs and clinicals as I hear it's very demanding. Best of Luck to you! I will log on to this site daily for motivation and inspiration, I think this is a very lucrative site.
I start Harcum College in Bry Mawr, PA. this Fall. I'm so excited!! It's been two years since I started taking Pre-nursing coorifices. I can't beleive I'm finally going to start. I'll gradute in 2010. I will also turn 40 in 2010. I can't wait for both of these events. It's like the start of the second part of my life. I've been reading NCLEX review books to try to get a handle on how the test questions will be given. Good luck to everyone. I'll see you on the other side. LOL

hello. i start nursing school this fall '08, entering into a bsn program. unlike most (or at least some of you), i didn't do pre-nursing at all. my background is in biology. i guess i got lucky with the school i chose, i got in my first try. we will have to do a semester of lab and coursework before we can start rotations (which i am thankful for since i don't have a background in nursing). anyway, i'm excited and ready to go!
has anyone considered a speciality area?
So we are all in the same boat here: afraid that our lives will fall apart as we study and go to class, but at the same time super excited to start school! I'm starting in the Fall 08 at La Salle University's day BSN program. I am commuting from New Jersey into Philadelphia for a 45 min drive two days a week for class and god knows where for clinicals three days a week. I still have to get some supplies, books, and my pda-- but it feels like the pressure/stress is mounting already and school is about a month away! I'm nervous I won't have time for myself or to maintain my relationships with my friends, family, and my boyfriend of two years I'm also kind of worried that I will not be able to maintain a high GPA, achieve my goals that I have set for myself, and stay on top of my studying
. But it makes me feel better that everyone is thinking the same things I am! So good luck to everyone and if your going to La Salle please let me know!
