CHLA March 2010 New RN Residency

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone!

Was wondering if anyone was accepted into the March 2010 CHLA new grad residency. If so, it would be nice to hear from you and to get to know you before the residency starts.

I was hired on Dec. 22, 2009 to work on 6 West. I am really excited about starting my new career.

Look forward to hearing from you.

i realize that, but i applied anyway. i recommend you continue with the rest of the application and submit it asap. that way you can receive the application packet sooner and turn that in as soon as you complete it. they will get inundated with so many applications, you have a better chance of getting your application looked over and a possible interview.

It looks like you have to have a BSN OR an ADN with a bachelors in another field to qualify for the program that starts in November 2010. Also, I didn't realize I had to make 15 posts before I could pm. Could you possibly point me in the direction of the HR there? I can't find anything on the website and salary is part of the online application.

Once you submit your online application HR emails you an additional application packet required as part of your portfolio. In that packet salary information is given. It's not mentioned on their website.

I applied to the online application as soon as it was up. I just received my application package by email last night.

got a call from HR today for a preliminary interview (for the november cohort). since i live in the bay area, they offered to give me a phone interview instead of going there in person.

Cool! Good luck!

I just received my rejection letter today for the November 2010 cohort...I wish you all good luck!!!!

For those of you who went through the application process for CHLA, can you tell me what the applicant pool was like? For example, how many people applied and how many positions were there? I am in the process of completing my application so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

thanks for the helpful post! I'm a little confused with the versant new grad program as a whole though, do they hire you just for those 22 weeks and then you go elsewhere to find a job (so basically the program gives you a one up when applying for jobs) or must you be hired as a future employee of the hospital in which the versant program takes place?

thanks in advance!

as what ive understand on the agreement, if you accept their offer for the RN Residency Program you are already committed to them for 2yrs after their 22 weeks program, of else you will have to pay the training fee...
