Children's Health Dallas July 2020 Nurse Residency

Updated:   Published

Here's a new thread for anyone who applied for the July 2020 Acute or Critical Care Nurse Residencies at Children's Health Dallas, we can keep each other updated! The application closes today (1/16)! I applied for both tracks!

How soon did y’all send in yalls background check form?

I sent mine in the same day that I received the phone call with the offer.

Has anyone heard anything from Jabar after all of your references filled out the reference forms?

I have not even received a rejection from Jabar. No one has called me at all since my interviews. I accepted a position elsewhere, but I’m a little disappointed that they never even sent an email or anything.

Neither did I!

From friends who have applied for previous cohorts, I’ve heard they do not send rejection emails ?

Oh I didn’t know that. I was under the impression they would call either way.

He told me that he was going to be calling saying people didn’t get the job after interviews so I’m unsure why they changed their mind?

No he definitely sent me an email on 3/27 finally telling me I didn’t get the job.

I got a rejection email recently. This was sent to me last week. That doesn’t make sense that he sent some out to some and not others?

The only thing I can think of is that he kept some of the alternates for floors in case others fall through later?

Specializes in PICU.

I’m so glad you got on somewhere else! Try not to take the lack of rejection letter/email personally. This pandemic thing is keeping the hospital pretty crazy. We’ve only had a couple of cases at CMCD, but HR is super busy with employees being quarantined, coordinating time off, getting travelers in and out, all of that stuff. Even though the pediatric population hasn’t really been affected, for some reason, the whole place is insane. I promise they’re just busy. Where did you end up getting on?! I feel like I’ve seen you post a couple of other places (you don’t have to tell if you don’t want, I was just curious). Best of luck to you wherever you end up!!

Is anyone worried that they won’t get to take NCLEX in time? I’ve been hearing that there was a bit of a backlog from when they initially cancelled it.

Jabar text me back this morning to tell me I wasn’t selected.

I accepted an offer at BUMC in the Cardiothoracic ICU a few weeks ago. So excited to be there. I would have never expected to be there. ❤️ I can’t wait to start.

So honored to have been given a chance to interview with such great units.

I’m nervous about when we will get to take the NCLEX too. I’m sure they will think of something. Nurses are innovative!
