  1. I’m sorry you and your family have dealt with that too. Complete ignorance!
  2. Can you provide an example please? I’m not quite following. What do you mean by “Gotcha-ism”?
  3. Isn’t is better if more healthy people get this virus and develop natural immunity? I mean, swine flu didn’t effect the elderly because they had largely built natural immunity to multiple H1N1 strains throughout their many years. They were more protected and helped to stop the spread that way. Why wouldn’t that work with C19? I agreed with flattening the curve in order to assess the severity and get our bearings, but we have the info we need to more forward. Keeping people disconnected from their health and wellness routines is more concerning for long term public health than this virus. As the number of cases increases, the severity rate decreases. This is a sign that more often than not, the cases are mild to moderate. Why not use that to our advantage and protect our vulnerable population?
  4. Is police brutality within law enforcement akin to the culture of silence within the medical community? Example: witnesses it, knows it’s wrong, could likely harm or kill someone, but afraid to speak up over fear of retaliation and/or association. Or even worse: witnesses it, says something, nothing happens, people continue to be harmed/killed. Seems like the same kind of human condition, just different fields. Thoughts?
  5. Thank you so much! ? Considering how much we will be needed, I have a feeling they will figure something out. People are getting really creative right now. I definitely don’t see our jobs being in jeopardy. The board may end up working something out with the hospitals so they can supervise us testing at their testing facilities maybe? Gosh though who knows right now. The hospitals have a vested interest in our competency level so they would be a reliable proctor if it had to come to that. It will be interesting to see what they do though. Crazy times, for sure.
  6. Jabar text me back this morning to tell me I wasn’t selected. I accepted an offer at BUMC in the Cardiothoracic ICU a few weeks ago. So excited to be there. I would have never expected to be there. ❤️ I can’t wait to start. So honored to have been given a chance to interview with such great units. I’m nervous about when we will get to take the NCLEX too. I’m sure they will think of something. Nurses are innovative!
  7. Oh I didn’t know that. I was under the impression they would call either way.
  8. I have not even received a rejection from Jabar. No one has called me at all since my interviews. I accepted a position elsewhere, but I’m a little disappointed that they never even sent an email or anything.
  9. I went biz-cas bc I planned on stopping at Costco on the way home and didn’t want to freak anyone out. LOL
  10. I got a call a little bit ago with an offer for CTTICU. He said things got held up with all the C-19 stuff that needed to be addressed but they are working on getting all their calls made.
  11. I spoke with D.C. today and the virus has really taken priority for all the nurse managers and staff who would normally be meeting about their selections. Now they are meeting about the ever changing situations with CoVID19. I would give them another week.
